Contrary to what was previously reported.

Another case of voice acting for the game but not the movie. As it stands, the only voice actors for the movie (not game) revealed are Peter Cullen (Prime), Hugo Weaving (Megatron) and Keith David (Barricade).

If I may... it doesn't actually say he's NOT voicing Ironhide in the movie, at least not insofar as Ironhide is voiced by somebody else. It's possible Ironhide simply doesn't have any speaking roles, which would explain why Ryan isn't sure whether his "autobot/decepticon material" is in the movie or not. It would also explain why, this late in the production cycle, so many characters haven't publically been given voice actors.

Just a possibility. I could be wrong.

    edit:

A better way of saying it is that Ryan is not denying that he is playing the role, simply saying in a very careful way that it is not confirmed that he is.

What I don't get is that, if it's an OFFICIAL MOVIE GAME, why, Welker aside, can't they get the movie cast to do the voices? Isn't that a big plus for movie tie-in games?

I would imagine that the main reason is $$$. I doubt that either having or not having the same voices as its source movie makes a big impact on a video game's sales.

Why is it an issue of money though? I mean, most VA's are in the same category. Its not like the monetary difference between casting Bruce Willis and "Background waitress A" from Friends or something... is it?

I'd imagine there'd be a somewhat significant difference between Hugo Weaving's and Frank Welker's prices, just as a f'r instance.

But then does that mean that other celebrities are doing the other voices? A good VA is a good va...

Well, I didn't care when it was annouced that he was voicing Ironhide, and I have to say that I don't care now that it has been annouced that he isn't voicing Ironhide.
