I love this guys art. He does some of the best work at IDW imo.I met him at Botcon and he's a really humble guy, like, he doesn't expect you to notice that his work KICKS ASS
His style has a very classic appearance, but modern details stand out when taking a closer look - the more mechanical hands, for instance.
Guido has become my fav but Marcelo is right up there too...that's some great art, I'd love to get that poster sized!
Matere, you are so bad guy. I didn't have a plan to purchase RI covers, but now I have to buy those nice covers! (Now issue #1, #4, and #7 has interconnected covers. Then next turn is issue #10?)
Agreed. I met him at Botcon 2010 and got a Fort Max sketch from him. Great guy, very fan-friendly as most of the artists are, with a few exceptions here and there. I may be in the minority, but I prefer the B&W version. Wish it was available as a lithograph.
How about a link to his Deviant Art page? Why always this useless link to the news page that I just came from? It seems like the original source of news never gets linked to.
Since ya asked nicely : MTMTE and RID interconneceted Covers 7 pencils by *mmatere on deviantART Here is a link to his dA page: mmatere on deviantART The news post states where the source comes from, and you'll find no additional information there than what was posted. The news article does state the original source. As far as things like this, as long as the source is sited someway, it's cool in my book. The original post here points to the front page for the story since a News Staff person (myself in this case) is reporting. I hope that answers your concerns
Thanks guys! you all rock! I loved to work on this cover! It's always great to draw our favorite characters! One clarification, the G1 designs won't be at the books. I did only for the covers . I'm gonna try to show more stuff here ! See ya!
This picture instantly went up as my desktop wall paper. My ONLY issue with the artwork (and it's more of a nit-pick) is that the flaws of the G1 designs can actually be seen. Shockwave and Megatron have no forward shoulder movement/joint. They both have the swing-up joint, but nothing allowing their arms to come forward (yet both have one arm that is). Seems trite, but it's something that stands out for me.
