He may not have talked on stage, but he did in movies.
Marcel had the ONLY speaking line in Mel Brooks' "Silent Movie."
Never uttered a word on stage? I guess that doesn't include the only audible line in Mel Brooks' 1976 film Silent Movie.
Hope he's up in mime heaven. Wait , that might be hell. Hope he's in regular heaven
Wow, I'm more surprised that he was still alive. I wish he woulda taken Shields & Yarnell to effectivley kill the Mime craze of the 70's.
Marceau was a fantastic mime.
There are some shitty mimes out there. We can't blame him for those.
But we can thank him for great mimes like Michel Courtemanche, great dancers like Micheal Jackson and the thousands of character actors who were inspired by him.
Must have forgotten how to get out of the box
Thanks to Tony's first post I don't feel so bad for thinking, "what were his last words?"
They played clips of his performances over the years on Howard Stern's radio show.
I lol'd at moment of silence...and I don't feel bad at all. See you guys in hell!
Marceau did all of his performances to original classical music. Are you telling me they played that, or that they did a shitty LOL MIMES ARE QUIET joke?
They played television appearances over the years (i.e. Letterman). The music was not classical.
