That's what it sounds like... but looking at the pics, it seems very distinct visually from Blitzwing.

One thing I'm curious about is whether this was a discarded concept from the original development period of the series, or was part of a cancelled continuation of the series.

How fickle you all are, yesterday it was all "Hasbro, we're not worthy" after the panel of awesome, now one (admittedly gorgeous) cancelled toy later and suddenly they're morons again.  

It is very sexy but for crying out loud it's so vague in what it is that they could use this design any time they wanted. I imagine we might even see it in Prime.

I second the call for extra info, was this some kind of late in the game upgrade for Megatron or the result of a wacky plot?

I really like the one we got but it does somewhat pale in comparison to this, just goes to show you how good these two companies really are together, they never stop upping their game.  

Oh I will, don't you worry about that, heck I ordered three copies of book one just to make sure I didn't miss it!

It is great to see toy stuff in these books, did you have to convince Hasbro to let you do it? I seem to recall they weren't keen on publishing stuff like this.

Possibly but animated Blitzwing didn't have a face plate so it wouldn't be much good in a narrative sense there.

 

now now, i ain't at all angry at hasbro, i am just hoping they get it to us somehow......i know this is is the 100th time i mentioned transtech starscream in this thread, but it is my one ray of hope for the toy

 

If the TF Prime Megatron toy looks like that jet mode with that robot mode, I might just be satisfied and give Hasbro many BUNNY KISSES :XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

That's what I was most struck by - it's a very well-designed triple changer. I wasn't big into Animated, but I'd certainly be tempted by this.

 

we already had one person come in and say they want it, just cause they want it in generations, doesn't mean we transformers fans all agree, i just want it released, i would do anything to get this toy lol

This is seriously one of the best triple-changers I've ever seen. If this is ever released, much rejoice will be had.
