For a guy who tried to do so much to help his people back home, it sure seems like he suffered greatly in his last days. Very sad...

I watched him all the time when he was with Golden State.

RIP Manute. Your humanitarian efforts made you a mountain of a man on top of being 7'7".

I hed the pleasure of meeting him several times when I worked at Longs...he lived in the neighborhood when he was playing for Golden State. He was a really nice guy. RIP Mr. Bol

    :rip  Manute Bol.

Tallest player to ever play in the NBA. Was one of my favs when I was growing up.

Strangely, I met a guy from Sudan 2-3 weeks ago who moved to America from Sudan 10 years ago. He's dating one of our friends. He was one of the famous 'Lost Boys' of Sudan that escaped that country. He told me Manute Bol was his uncle and I was like "No way!" He was happy that I knew his uncle, and he told me a few stories about him. Then he shows me his phone and the background picture when you open the phone was this man and some other people with giant Manute Bol towering over them! Then he tells me Luol Deng is his cousin too! Crazy. Also, he mentioned his uncle was in the hospital and he wasn't doing so well. This was 2-3 weeks ago. So I feel especially sad that Manute Bol has died.

It's ironic that such a good man had to be in that much pain for his final days.....I don't (ritualistically) follow sports, but his humanitarian effort in his homeland is what I will know him for.
