He meant the one he stole. V8 thefts are only worth two weeks in jail.

V8 is awesome. My second favorite breakfast drink, next to orange juice. Hot and Spicy version is even better. In fact, I just finished a glass of it.

    Eh, depends on the specifics.

It sounds like he plead down to a misdemeanor theft. I doubt he was jailed as part of the sentencing, but rather because of the arrest. In our system, it's not always enough to say "yeah, I'll be there at court" to get out of jail, and a lot of people can't afford to post the bond to get out, even if it's just a few hundred dollars.

I'm guessing he spent a lot of time in jail because he could post bond, so he had to chill before he was finally sentenced. That's how it goes.

For fucking soda? Employees can drink that shit for free.
People go to jail for nothing in the States, while the big time criminals run free… *sigh*

There could be a lot of factors here that aren't getting reported. He pled to a reduced charged and the DA made a comment about the guy being under the influence. So there could be alcohol/drug charges on the side that were dismissed.

The system is full of people who need to be paid. Judges, police, guards, prison/jail workers, public defenders.
