    ...since this movie came out.

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0187078/

Seems like just yesterday I watched it for the first time. I was watching it tonight for the first time in a while and I didn't realize it was that old. It does have the best car chase scene EVER.

Best car chase? Pah! It's like 10 minutes...the chase in the original version (33 years ago) went on for half the damn movie. It is legend. The remake's is..just kinda fun.

The '67 GT500 is a hell of a lot nicer than that Mach 1 jalopy though.

Another fun Nicholas Cage movie. I've liked everything that I've seen him in...though I didn't see The Wicker Man, so that one mgiht've been a negative.

Everything I learned about car boosting I learned at the movies!

I can't believe it's been more than 12 years since Star Trek: Voyager first aired. I've been watching that series on DVD again lately (due to my chosen lack of cable TV), and it seems like it's only been a couple of years. Time does indeed fly.

Yeah, do yourself a favor and don't see the Wicker Man. Probably one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

As a fan of Mustangs and movies, it's definitely high on my list. BTW, it's even better on Blu-ray. But that's a discussion for another thread.

    Jux said it best.

Just one example for me that keeps coming up - every time I go to empty my history folder in Firefox there's already 2-3 days, sometimes more, built up even though it would seem I'd just emptied it the day before. Where the hell does the time go? Days pass at an alarmingly unforgiving rate.

Just makes me think of how amazing it is that kids now are looking back on times even as recent as the mid 90s as if it was some ridiculous stone age era the same as I was looking back on the 70s and 60s not too long ago.

    Time, what a bastard.

I used to really like Gone in 60 Seconds... right up until my car got stolen waaaaay back in 2001/2. Suddenly it didn't seem as good... wonder why?

If you think this is weird, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and The Matrix came out in 1999! LAST DECADE!

IMO time seems to pass faster when you're older. When I was a kid 15 minutes of playtime seemed like the longest time in the world. I couldn't sit through a 90 minute film without getting bored after 10 minutes. These days months go by and I wonder where time went.

It's true tikgnat, it really is. I'm going to seem as if I'm quoting to seem intelligent and relevant or what have you, but honestly, the best expression of that feeling that I've ever come across, or my favorite at least, is in the Pink Floyd song "Time", particularly the lines "And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking, and racing around to come up behind you again. The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older, shorter of breath and one day closer to death."

We all really sound like a bunch of old codgers. Mortality can suck my ass

Also, anyone under the age of 21 might not know who Maverick and Goose are.

    'I feel the need!'
    'THE NEED FOR SPEED!'

    And that scares me.
