Excellent work. Good use of the articulated fists from the first Leader Prime, and the removable blades and gun all look superb. Great paintjob, you've really caught the look of the film, with regard to the truck mode looking fairly clean, but the bot mode having wear and tear.

Hey mamps, I know I'm starting to be a big pain in the ass but, what do you use for a top coat thing so that the paint doesnt come off? How did you apply it? spray? or brush? I noticed the silver on my prime comes off

and what did you use to cut off the part's from ROTF and TFTM primes?

I wonder what sorta pen you used. I want to do that to my prime as well.

and I see you did someting to the windscreen as well. Thin black layer paint perhaps?

Did you took apart the knees and the shoulders before painting it? If so, is it hard to put ir back? I'm afraid I might mess up the ratchet joints and can't put it back together.

Thanks man! That was exactly what I was going for. A lot of the repaints look kinda plain with the bot mode really clean and shiny when the CG models have all sorts of nicks and paint chips. :)

    Thanks! :rock

Haha no problem. I generally use Future Floor polish (Pledge Wipe n' Shine) in the Philippines as my clearcoat. I brush it on. For the pinstripes I used RJ London clear lacquer spray.

Err a dremel tool would be ideal, but I used wire cutters and an X-acto knife. They worked pretty well for me. :)

Thanks! I'm glad that more and more Pinoy customizers are posting here on TFW. :)

Thanks man! Your Prime looks great as well.

I used this kind of pen. Yeah, I painted the windshield with clear smoke gray acrylic. I wanted to give it a translucent medium tint but it came out darker than I planned.

I'm flattered that you think so. Thanks! :)

I actually didn't paint the blue parts. It's the stock plastic with multiple layers of clear coat for that shiny look.

Yup I did. It's pretty easy to put back together, just make sure to keep the internal parts taped up and safe while you're painting.

No doubt this looks great. One of my favs!!! But, the stacks are backwards and the inside of the sword that you have metal is actually the glowing orange color:)

    Just a little help.

Thanks man! That means a lot coming from you.

Oops. I just tried looking at some reference pics and I did have the smokestacks on backwards. That's a keen eye you have there.

I was also debating with myself about the color of the blades. The inner part of the blade is orange OR silver depending on what reference pics you're looking at. My first attachment (screen cap from the first movie) shows this part in orange, but the second and third pics (screencap from ROTF and page from the comic adaptation) shows it in a silver/metal color while only the outer blade is glowing orange. I chose the latter because of the more recent source material and also to differentiate my custom from those of most people who choose to have it in orange. :)

Well, I had my first stacks on backwards and ever sense then I pay closer attention:)  I watched the movie for the fourth time last week and just noticed those "brackets" on Primes shoulders are goldish!!! HAHA

Yeah, it's just hard to get the details accurate to the movie because even the screencaps and CGI images have differences. It's also pretty hard to find clear screencaps of the 'bots from the movie. I did most of my researching on that for the first movie Prime so it was just the swords this time around.

But yeah, apparently I missed the smokestacks. :lolol

^ I painted them with clear smoke for a dark translucent tint effect. It came out a little too dark but you can still see through the windows when the lighting is right. :)

I can't beleive I haven't commented on this one yet! I will go into more detail once I am home (about to leave work) but in a word, incredible! When I redo my Leader, I hope it looks this good!

One question for you Mampy. Did you repaint the truck parts or just outline the flames with the silver gel pen then coat it? If you did a complete repaint, how did you do the flames (ie-masking tape? F_r stencils?)

    Thanks man!
