I'd try it. But I'd deffinately use saftey gloves and goggles/glasses, and have someone else to help. But seems very straight forward.

There are other safer ways to make plastic on the net.

You absorb acetone into your body and it stays there, so it's definitely not safe to use a whole lot of all the time. Some here and there won't hurt you, though.

That's a cool process. I'll have to try it.

That site does rule, they have instructions for a light up Legion/GL ring, how to make an led Light Saber, and all sorts of other cool nerdy crap (AND lots of helpful boring day to day stuff too).

    RULES. :)

I've used acetone before. The main thing is DO NOT BREATH IT. Ventilation and a mask. I've never had it get into my eyes but I would recommend eye protection also. The fumes are very toxic. Once it dries it's perfectly harmless.

Interesting. I might try this some time, though I'm not sure what I'll do with it, lol.

So I tried it. I made a batch of liquid plastic I'll then mold (try).
Down side is to let the liquid plastic in the acetone for a couple of days.
It has alot of air bubbles and they eventually come to the surface.
I accelerated the process using my GF's personnal vibrator egg and vibrated the bottle to make the air bubbles go out of the plastic.
Still, I'll let it in the bottle dipped in acetone for a couple of days.

Did I just read that right? You used a sex toy?

This process sounds cool, I might give it a shot.

    lol
Vibrations make the air bubble go up to the surface alot faster so I use whatever I have at hand.

It's been what, a week?? My bottle is still sealed. The bubbles are totally gone.
The mixture is almost transparent (clear) and there is a thin white layer on top that is clearly not mixing with the rest of mixture.

I'll think of something to mold and show results eventually.
