Ok, so back in Feb I ordered a Knock off Swoop to complete my Dinobot collection. What I got was a lemon. The paint was flaking off before I even transformed it. The thrusters didn't fit in the peg on the wings. The head/face came off the body. Not only that but the face wasn't even painted. Toy was very loose and got a Grimlock sword instead of the Swoop sword.

Thus, I was pissed! I paid close to 90 bucks and got a crappy toy. And my friends don't let me forget that I got a P.O.S. (piece of shit) toy. So I made up my mind that I will have to get the vintage toy to complete my Dinobot collection. Still haven't got him yet..but I will. So, in the meantime. I took my knock off apart and repinted the body into the anime version from the show. tried to tighten up some of the screws and had a friend of mine paint the face. I also ordered the repolabels for Swoop cause the ones that came with the knock off are of inferior quality. So just a few hours ago I was able to finish my project on this guy and turned out really good in my opinion. Here's a few pics.

Because of this Swoop letdown, I have deceided too keep away from the new batch of knock offs that are comming out. I may pick up a knock off of Ratback. But will still think about that.

So let me know what you think.

Nicely done! I can't help but be tickled at just how coincidentally similar our Swoops are though, as I got a friend to paint my Swoop for me about a year ago :D .

A bit of shame to hear about the quality of your KO, but hey, you did what you could and it looks great!

Ouch. You probably could have found a G1 Swoop of higher quality for $90. I repeat, ouch.

    EDIT:
One of the first listings on ebay. for $95 and a set of reprolabels, you could have the real deal.

Now that is cool. I've heard of people repainting their G1 Swoop into the anime version. I just didn't see pics before. I also couldn't do it to a vintage toy knowing that I can really screw it up if I didn't do it right.

But since this was a KO, then I didn't have nothing to loose but $90 bucks. So I figured I'll do what I can and see if I can salvage some dignity from this bad decision I made.

Trust me, I really thought about getting gold on the feet, missles and sword. But I just didn't know how to go about doing it. So I stuck with the chest and go from there. But it does look neat as is.

I'd like to see someone do this and also paint over that clear beak

Cool though, it's good that you got a positive out of your lemon eh, despite the crazy price you paid
