A little late to the party, but my set arrived last night and I am very, very impressed.

Considering what I paid for Perfect Effect versions of Rewind and Reflector, Maketoys has really given solid value for the money. The plastic is solid, the articulation is great and the sculpts are fantastic.

As for the issue and concern with the hands, you indeed must make sure to full extend the forearms to allow the hands to lock in place. It works very well and I am very happy with the set.

A bit late to the party as well, but I got these guys along with the My First Blaster kit from BBTS earlier this week (First 3rd party figures I've bought since the original FP Bruticus sets back in 2011!) and I'm really impressed. Haven't been able to put these guys down for long.

I love how simple the transformation is and how expressive the robot modes are, these are a textbook definition of fun! Especially with Swerve's drink tray.

Considering their size and the level of articulation, I was afraid they'd be a bit too fiddly to work with, but they're bulky and blocky enough for it to be a complete non-issue.

The only real issue I have is that you have to unscrew the heads in order to swap them and it feels like the additional heads were a last minute addition as a result. Doesn't bother me as much with Swerve as it does with Gears. While I've had fun taking pics of post-shoomed Swerve, it's not something I'd want to swap between on a regular basis. But I LOVE Gears' toy-accurate battle mask head and would really like to be able to easily swap between the two for action poses.

Technically, yes; Cogwheel can wield it easily as well, but due to their hands being closer to 4mm than 5mm, the My First Blaster is a loose mess in most standard Transformers' (and most 3rd party) hands. You can set it in someone's hand carefully, perhaps, but then it'll probably fall out or spin around with the slightest touch. Kinda like the Kup blasters from the iGear set, but amplified.
