I mean, there's still hope for individually released cross dimension combiner members that will still form the gestalt. Cross your collective fingers!

Damn.... I finally got around to opening my Quantron and the first time I tried to transform Sonicdrill, I snapped the peg at his knee that goes into his lower leg. Are there any replacement parts available for that joint? Anybody sellling a junker of Sonicdrill by any chance?

Do you have any photos of the snapped peg, broken bits? If its a clean break, maybe you can do your own reinforcing surgery. I'm sure some of the members on here may have a good suggestion on how to make your repair based on the photos?

How long ago or where did you pick up your Quantron from? Maybe the shop that you got it from has a good relationship with MT so they could obtain a replacement part? Have you tried contacting MT?

    Good luck, keep us posted!

(Now i'm gonna go check my Quantron to see if there's any stress marks occurring that I wasn't aware of yet).

Yes as Pho'ptimus says pics would be helpful...it sounds like you had the exact same break I had and I was able to fix mine.

Thanks for the replies - here are some photos to clarify
The break occured where the green arrow is pointing. There are two pins on his double knees. The blue one moves well, the red one on his one knee is stuck. When I folded out his lower leg, the blue one ratcheted open, but the red one did not, stressing the plastic at the green arrow.

You can see the clean break below
    [IMG]

I think the break occurred because the ratchet tab on the lower part of the double knee is way too tight, preventing the gears from moving past the ratchet tab, locking up the joint, and forcing the pressure elsewhere (snapped tab just below)

Any ideas about how to fix these, get replacement parts, etc is greatly appreciated. Thanks to all!

I had the same break! Was unable to get a replacement part but was able to drill a small hole and superglue a bit of metal wire in the peg shaft and head to hold it together. Filed the knee rachet down so it is much looser to prevent a rebreak. It's.been fine since. I put pictures up somewhere. Maybe in Radicons?

Would you have a tool to remove the grey broken mushroom bit? If you could get that out then I would epoxy glue or use ABS glue to glue the broken parts back together. Once that's dried, use a mini drill or pin vise to drill a hole and insert a thick wire/rod to serve as internal support. That's how I would try it, if no replacement parts are available to you.

I think it should be easy to fix this, just find a proper screw to replace the grey broken mushroom head, that will be strong enough.

I had that same break as well. Took a long while to get a replacement even back then. I like this set, but I don't touch this set anymore because I feel it is more fragile than other MT stuff I own.

I've transformed sonic drill back and forth quite a few times without issue now, but now that I'm aware of this potential weak point it's definitely gonna snap on mine the next time I transform him.

I broke the same piece on SonicDrill's left leg.
I contacted Maketoys and they sent a replacement leg up to that knee joint about 2 months after my initial email.
You can also order a replacement knee from Shapeways: Maketoys Quantron Sonic Drill Knee Replacement by chromahands on Shapeways

Thanks for the link... I ordered this and contacted Maketoys... Fingers crossed they send a replacement, but in the meantime, the shapeways one hopefully works.

Also, sorry for jinxing everybody! I hope the pictures showed exactly what to watch for... I definitely would think about shaving down the notch in that ratchet...

    You're welcome.
Just be careful when you go to pop the broken knee joint out, the pin was a bit hard to take out on my sonic drill

So, any luck getting getting a replacement leg from maketoys?

Also, has anyone tried the eness decal set for quantron? It supposedly takes inspiration from the original g1 toy stickers, but I can't seem to find any good close up pictures of the finished look.
