You've also made me realize they lowered the waist line quite a bit so his torso doesn't look as scrunched as it did before. Which is way way better.

But yeah those deviations from g1 on the legs are just weird, wonder why they did that after literally making his torso more g1. Such a strange thing to do.

 

If Cupola, Hellfire, Wrestle, and Iron Will are any indicator, then this will have rubber tires as well. I'm curious to know what all the accessories for Downbeat are.

Wasn't it mentioned a few pages back that he'll have his gun, speakers for his shoulders and a grappling hook that can be attached to his gun. I guess it's early for any official confirmation.

 

After this one comes out, Cliffjumper will be the only S1 Autobot we have no MP option for. Just saying...

XTB have teased Cliffy on the boxwork for... Ollie? or maybe Arkose? ..one of their recent releases anyways. Plus they've shown that render of the complete minibot cast in vehicle mode. XTB will definitely do a Cliffjumper at some point and I would expect at least one other company to as well, if not 4 or 5 versions.

 

I'm wondering if this will be another one of those stupid "exclusives" you have to get from their website like Grapple was. That was a huge pain in the ass.

 

Highly unlikely given who it is. Why limit your potential userbase for such a big character.

That being said I don't see the issue ordering direct. It's not like they're dodgy.

 

They're not dodgy. It just took forever to get updates on when it was coming and I don't pay my vendor in advance for any of these figures. They also have sorta sucky customer service if something is wrong. My Inferno from them was missing a piece of trim and they kinda came back with "Sorry about that" but no real resolution. I ended up getting the piece from BBTS.

This was a welcome surprise to come back from vacation to find! Wonder what the price point will be, and when the expected release date. Need more info!

 

I would really like to see them change the shin covers to have more of a sloped curve as it reaches his feet. He looks great, but his lower half is more angular than his more accurate top half. That's something Takara would certainly get correct.

Boy the waiting is gonna be hard on this one. Still the figure I am most excited to get, from anybody.
Love the see the door wing option, the expanding chest thing is brilliant, and the headsculpt is on point. Car looks great.
Loving almost everything I'm seeing here.
And whatever test they are running with that blue color, it's turning out well.
