I saw this over the weekend.........

In anticipation of these, I transformed my MP Thundercraker and Skywarp into their jet modes, pegged them into their flight stands, and set on my highest top shelf next to Mp Starscream.......

Only these MT versions of the seekers will grace my detolfs........

FWIW, I emailed their customer support with my concerns over the black hands and the black nosecone on TC. I did get a reply saying they would pass my email on to the design team.

I can't remember if it was easy to swap the kfc hands onto this mould. Sales may spike in the near future if so lol

Problem is the shade of purple isn't very close. Is mismatched purple any better than black?

I'm hoping the changes go through too. Just so you know, you've been voted to champion this through. No pressure here but no room for failure either. :)

It's doable, just requires a dremel or file to widen the slot on the new hands .

Same here. I love the figure... except for the obvious make toys cheaping out on the hands an just having extra black produced with the thundercracker production run. :(

I have no real idea how toy moulds work, but glancing over the three prototypes, all the blue parts on Meteor are black on Lighning and purple on Skycrow. The exceptions are Skycrows purple shoulders (which they've managed to do fine), and of course the hands, which are black.
Putting aside the shoulder parts, it seems like it would have actually been easier for Maketoys to simply follow the exact same process with Skycrow as the other two and use the right colour for the same parts on all three? It actually seems like they had to go out of their way to make the hands black.
The same applies for most other parts. Meteor's grey body is pretty much the blue parts on Lightning and the black on Skycrow, his red corresponds to the pale blue/grey on Lightning and to Skycrows silver. Which all makes perfect sense as these have always been remoulds and the colour pallete would have been switched in that way from the start.
I just don't get why the black hands? It's genuinely baffling that this inaccuracy seems like it's actually more difficult for them to produce. All I can think is that maybe the purple plastic is not structurally suitable for hands or something like that?

Like I said earlier, I don't see how putting black hands on Skywarp is saving MT any money. The parts that are black on Thundercracker are the same parts that are blue on Starscream and purple on Skywarp. Whatever mold they used to make Meteor's blue parts they'd just have to run it with black plastic for Lightning and purple for Skycrow. To switch to black means running the mold in purple, tossing the purple hands, and running it again with black and tossing everything but the hands.

Maybe the purple is prone to cracking when they try to pin the fingers?

That is a good thing, I highly doubt that this thing will be released on time, or they could just easily make options available at release to speed it along.
