The black hands on Skywarp are the only detractor here, hope some miracle happens and they end up being purple but still miles better than the official release!

Thank you very much. So Galaxy Meteor has a similar weight to MP Soundwave and Shockwave, but Maketoys plastic shoukd feel harder therefore I wanted to see if there is a correlation between weight and plastic hardness.

Many heavier toys are distorted by the use of diecast.

I'm getting these, but I'm a little disappointed they didn't upgrade the mold for these releases (e.g. shins, wings, vents)

I'm so close to just diving in on all three of these guys. I have the YM versions and they're great, but the cartoon-look is just awesome on the MT versions. If these weren't super important S1 characters it would be an easier pass. I've watched some reviews and the transformation seems decent. Does anyone here have issues with flipping Meteor back and forth? I don't do it very often, but I will from time to time.

I enjoy transforming him back and forth quite a bit. The transformation is deceptively easy, only issue being how his nose cone will pop off occasionally.

Why is there a grey bit of plastic on TC's nosecone? If that's in the final release that is incredibly lazy. It sticks out so obviously.

It must have something to do with the mold. It’s not as if they are going to go through all this incredible effort to make these guys and then leave that because they suddenly got ‘lazy’.

The same piece is discolored on Skywarp as well.

Maybe, if they can't get purple hands in time for release, they could do an accessory pack? Coronation gear, purple hands, mini Reflector, better head sculpts, flight stands, etc.?

    Probably won't happen...but just a thought.

    Agreed.
The way I was able to justify moving into MP/3P figures was that I would only get one “definitive” version of any given character (as opposed to the many different mainline HasTak versions I’d collected since 2001).

But then I got Power Baser (in addition to MP-10), so there went that justification. ;)

Thought I’d mess around with Meteor and YesModel Skywarp to decide if I really need an upgrade to Skywarp and Thundercracker. Took some comparison pics! Still sort of undecided but leaning towards “needs replacing”.

Even if I get all the MT seekers/coneheads, there's no way I'm getting rid of my Yes Model versions. Especially since the first run of YM doesn't have the ugly new tampos. The MT versions are good but there's just some things that YM gets right, especially in alt mode. Over time the YM versions will be harder to find if I get rid of them now.

I plan to have the YM versions in jet mode on a shelf in the den and the MT versions in robot mode on my main Decepticon shelf...I never really get rid of any of my toys....too lazy :D

This is my idea to fix the buttflap that Meteor has to make it better. 20180416_172608.jpg 20180416_172556.jpg

I just got Meteor in the mail today. I'm really not impressed with the enginering. Maketoys just can not make a fun transformation! I thought the same about their Downbeat. Sure it looks great in both modes but it shouldn't be such a pain getting between them.

I mean, to each their own, but I thought it's far easier than MP-11.

Well, like I said, to each their own.

Then again, I also think Downbeat's pretty easy (the legs do half the work for you!) and I don't think Sunsurge is half as bad as he was made out to be. Personally, I think FansToys is the king of pain-in-the-ass transformations, but everyone seems to love them.
