Head and the hands on despo are the only disappointments for me. From a looks perspective, I like apollyon’s head most.

I wanted the Mightron head but since I have the extra MP-36 head I may try that on Despotron.

I used the MODEL-001 MP-36 MASTERPIECE MEGATRON UPGRADE KIT for the head. megs.jpg

Were there any necessary modifications to make that head fit on Despotron? Can he still transform with that head?

I tried to keep everything completely reversible. I cut out a small square block of eva foam and drilled a hole in the center. Heated it up and popped it on the necks ball joint first. Then removed the foam, heated again and fitted inside the head ball socket.

Despotron would be perfect if the knees and ankles actually locked in place. I know tightening the pins works too, but over time they might loosen again.
Still an amazing figure though, I never get tired of the chrome red eyes.

Ankles are indeed a potential problem. Knees I think will hold after the fix, but his ankles have me worried somewhat.

His ankles and his head are my only issues. I wish his head was a bit bigger, but I love his sneer. That's a face expression Megatron needs.

But in every other way, Despotron is my Megatron. Sure, not in the accurate look (unless you go for DW), but in the power that he portrays. Despotron is a Megatron you know you need to fear because he has the strenght to crush you with his bare hands.

The round spot is the underside of his arm.

For the ankles, what I did was open the legs up to access the spring tabs that "click" the ankles into place. The springs are just a bit short/weak. I just stretched them out by hand by about 50%, reassembled them, and now the ankle sliders click into place much more audibly, and without any sagging.

10-15 minutes? Just for the usual factor of dealing with springs. And because the springs are over-extended, there's a bit of extra effort holding them in compression when putting everything back together.

agreed. I got rid of mine a few weeks ago. I only bought it out of some dumb sense of loyalty to TT and Megatron, despite not really liking it. I can appreciate what others like about it, but it’s not for me.

or mp36. It’s one of the few things they did right. Definitely would prefer mightron, but at 20 for the mp36 upgrade head, I couldn’t say no.

The MP Megatron head is very very nice though, no question about that.

I never bought MP-36, but it definitely captures the show look perfectly, which is great for people who want that. I’ll admit, the proportions do look cool at some angles. But overall, it just doesn’t look like an intimidating character. But those that buy it are looking for accuracy, not coolness factor I suppose. Can’t blame them. I want accurate MPMs so to each their own

Yeah, I don't have MP-36, but he looks like a perfectly fine figure, with all sorts of neat features and accessories. Same with MP-29, I do have him, and I think he's great. Those prices though!

Like if Despotron and Quakeblast didn't exist, I would probably think the MP versions were phenomenal. But I feel the aforementioned figures represent the intimidating aesthetic of Megatron and Shockwave better. And they're way cheaper! I mean, $200+ each for the MP versions? Despotron and Quakeblast cost me less than $200 total!

Where did you get you MP36 head set from? Too many eBay sheisters, lol. And how does the silver finish look on Despotron?

    Model-001 MP36 replacement head w/ light

Had to paint it, but it’s a pretty easy paint job.

Looks great. I did the same thing, but I modded the head socket quite a bit with clay so it would sit back further on the neck post. I also got the cannon, but I need to make a mount for it. Haven’t had the time, yet.
