    Exactly.
But I see 4 people have liked your dare. Seems people are eager to see me drop that comment into the mp36 thread. Haha just randomly and out of context.

I am not a fan of "Old man Megs," he looks like a Scooby Doo villain to me and has no terrifying presence, unlike Despotron.

I really like MP-36, and it does have a lot of character and good looks. But Despotron captures what I envision to be what Megatron should look like. Buff, strong, large, and intimidating. And putting on KFC's hands for MP-10B just made him a whole lot better. This and Mightron are my MP Megatrons. MP-36 stands separately with MT Meteor and Lilacwave.

Man, I’m so happy to see so many folks feeling the same way about Despotron. I find everyone uses the word “menacing” to describe him. I couldn’t agree more.

I like my MP-36, but I love my Despotron. I did sell him once thinking I wouldn’t need him after getting MP-36, but regretted it immediately and bought another one right away. Lucky there was a sale for $75 on the MakeToys store.

He and the Reformatted Tyrantron are my two fav Megs.

I feel like this photo really brings out what wrong with mp36, shapewise.

Or it really brings out what's wrong with MP10, shapewise. ;)  Honestly, though, I think it's a little bit of both. Megatron's legs are definitely a bit too long, and his torso a bit too squat and narrow, but Optimus' lower legs are definitely too short, his arms too long, and arguably, his torso is just a tad too elongated as well.

As for Despotron, I really tried to like him, but he just doesn't do it for me. Having bought MP-36, and then almost immediately selling him because I just couldn't get past his shortcomings, I was hoping that Despotron would scratch the Megatron itch for me. After watching so many positive video reviews, I finally took the plunge, but the second I had him in hand, I knew he wasn't the one. I ended up settling on the IT-01 MP-36 KO, and am mostly satisfied with him. Not so much because I've changed my mind about his shortcomings, but they are much easier to swallow with a $90 figure than a $200 one. I'm still waiting for another 3rd party company to knock it out of the park with Megs.

I only thing really "wrong" with MP10 is the long arms, I wish KO makers would do the Shadowfisher arm set when they KO MP10, other then that, MP Megs is all kinds of wrong proportion wise. Despo corrects a ton of them and make Megatron menacing.

Despotron combined with a Mightron head is perfection to me, but the original head still gets a 9.5/10.

I dunno. The original head fits a lot more than someone else’s.

Head and the hands on despo are the only disappointments for me. From a looks perspective, I like apollyon’s head most.

I wanted the Mightron head but since I have the extra MP-36 head I may try that on Despotron.

Were there any necessary modifications to make that head fit on Despotron? Can he still transform with that head?

I tried to keep everything completely reversible. I cut out a small square block of eva foam and drilled a hole in the center. Heated it up and popped it on the necks ball joint first. Then removed the foam, heated again and fitted inside the head ball socket.

Is there something on his arm?

Despotron would be perfect if the knees and ankles actually locked in place. I know tightening the pins works too, but over time they might loosen again.
Still an amazing figure though, I never get tired of the chrome red eyes.

Ankles are indeed a potential problem. Knees I think will hold after the fix, but his ankles have me worried somewhat.

His ankles and his head are my only issues. I wish his head was a bit bigger, but I love his sneer. That's a face expression Megatron needs.

But in every other way, Despotron is my Megatron. Sure, not in the accurate look (unless you go for DW), but in the power that he portrays. Despotron is a Megatron you know you need to fear because he has the strenght to crush you with his bare hands.

The round spot is the underside of his arm.

For the ankles, what I did was open the legs up to access the spring tabs that "click" the ankles into place. The springs are just a bit short/weak. I just stretched them out by hand by about 50%, reassembled them, and now the ankle sliders click into place much more audibly, and without any sagging.
