That is one of the best/most underrated transformers of all time and I would saw my arm off for a M/T version, provided the doctors can reattach it before he ships.

IIRC, the words were "I look like... Thundercracker?"

    Correct.

I'm pretty sure this was covered when we had "Orson's World" here. Thundercracker was intended to be a different character in the US. They didn't realize Takara was going to make it a "super mode" in the cartoon. So Aaron Archer I believe made sure he was still a separate character. They also made several other "power up" characters into new characters to sell more toys. I can tell you it worked, because I bought them. Because he didn't make it in time, a few things didn't get their names changed as intended... Powerlinx Cyclonus was supposed to be Springer, and Energon Energon Ironhide was supposed to be called Hound (even a Previews listing had him listed as Energon Hound). I'm sure there are others...

Hey, it worked for me. I wanted to be a character completest and making all of those repaints as new characters got me to buy them. Often times, the repaints looked better than the original.

I was able to pick up a Galaxy Meteor from The Chosen Prime at TFCon DC, and I absolutely love him! My biggest/only problem with the figure is that his Cyber Key is actually just slightly smaller than the HasTak ones. I think MakeToys should have gone with the same scale for the keys, especially since it's only just barely off as it is. But that's a very minor nitpick. I took some pictures of Galaxy Meteor with some of my other Cybertron/Galaxy Force figures for comparison. He really does look great with them!
Galaxy Destrons.JPG Galaxy Meteor with Galaxy Convoy.JPG Galaxy Meteor with Sideways.JPG Galaxy Meteor with Vector Prime.JPG
Galaxy Meteor is significantly larger than Starscream was in the cartoon (before he powered up and turned massive), and it's most obvious when he's next to Vector Prime and Sideways. He should really be closer to Vector Prime's height. That said, he does still look great alongside his fellows, and the scale still works. I like that he's much closer in height to Megatron - it makes him look more formidable.

Going to have to wait to get this guy, other things this month are eating up my wallet. Liking the comparisons and pictures regardless.

I wonder if they changed the key size on purpose, like the shape was patented or something.

Really pleased with this figure. The box is surprisingly light but the figure is solid in hand. Every bit as good as the test shot plus the usual improvements to joint tolerances.

Only makes sense that if they make Galaxy Convoy and Megatron, that the Leobreakers will go alongside them. It'd be kind of neat if, as a twist, they also design the Sonic Bomber addon to also work on Megatron. Leobreaker being a solid arm for a change would be nice... Dug the concept, execution was awful.

They would be utter geniuses if they engineer a Leobreaker that is compatible with their Galaxy Manus AND the original Galaxy Convoy.

Seeing all these people getting him early from TFcon makes me so antsy for the release omg I'm so jelly! >< I'm curious tho, as I never owned Cybertron Prime or Megs as a kid, how does Screamy here compare to the likes of a movie Leader figure? Anyone got him next to ROTF Prime or HFTD Starscream? I need to know where to put him in my super small room.

What would be a good place to get this from in Canada in you guys' opinions?

I hope so. The original Cybertron Optimus is good enough for me, but man does Leobreaker just stink.

Is there a way to encourage Maketoys to do Acidstorm and Sunstorm?

Even Planet X and Iron Factory are doing them, but not DX9.

The savage claw mode is so stupid I love it. Not sure if Liobreaker is something they'll jump on though. It makes total sense to make the addons for the commanders since we love our addons the repaint is a no brainer, but would they shoot for that over other characters?

MT of all companies should be able to manage a simplistic lion bot turning into a massive poseable arm with an actual articulated hand so I'm not worried. But if they're thinking with their wallets they might go for some other design first.

    I really hope they do.

There was a great Sunstorm digibash earlier in the thread, look for it if you get the chance.
