Dont tease me with a Master Megatron. I'd be all over that orange arms and all.
Peaugh put his review up.
This guy has to be hitting any time now.
After watching Peaugh's review, the close-up shots of his face really put me off this figure. Went from a must have to a hell no when I saw that face up close. For $140, it should not have hot dug bun lips. Maketoys has a lot of really great designs until you get to the faces, they really need to hire someone without face blindness to do their sculpting.
the open mouth one is not really my thing but the smirk and regular face are quite nice.
Yup, I like them both as well.
After seeing Peaughs review I'm more tempted than before to get this. Sure, I can't really use it in my collection (although I'm considering revisiting an old idea, which also lets me buy GT's Bomber Megatron and Spark Toys Grimlock), but he looks too nice.
Only things holding me back is that I actually prefer a smaller size (the original was a good size) and a very idle vague hope for a repaint -- but Maketoys so far hasn't released a single remastered figure in anything else than show colours, even when there are alternate colours available (i.e. Detritus for Gundog and Artfire/Hauler for Hellfire/Wrestle).
Skullface has his review up, better hope theres paint.
Hahah. Won't get to watch it for a few hours but I expect he'll like it.
edit: stayed up to watch it; he digs it.
I got to play with this at TFNation, and its great! Good quality plastic, articulation that can allow you to get him in extremely expressive poses, good headsculpt, sturdy, he is just amazing. i might have a picture if i scamper through all the ones at TFN.
So ready for boxing glove Starscream....
From the review, I'd say it wasn't so much as digs it as he was gushing over the figure.
He mustve been released at tf natiln2
Yeah, the skit in the video was him sitting on his couch and trying to come up with something negative to say.
Personally, I couldn't get through Galaxy Force/Cybertron, and I've got no attachment to the character whatsoever. The vaguely tetra-jet/War Within alt mode doesn't speak to me, either. But Bobby made it look good enough that I might have to work him into the budget.
So I watched his review, and while he still did a couple of things I hate his reviews for (manhandling figures, not taking time to learn ANYTHING about what he's reviewing), it wasn't a bad review at all.
Those are definitely Bobby's negatives, for sure. I guess I've gotten used to it, though. If I need help transforming a figure I'll watch Emgo, Paik4Life, or @breaux man. What I like about Bobby's reviews is that he tries highlight both the good and bad in a figure whether he likes it or not, and he's got no problem telling you if he thinks something is shit. A lot of other reviewers tend to be almost too positive... not that I blame them. Most of them are reviewing stuff they bought themselves, so they're going to be inclined to like it.
This thing is so close to perfect, the fact that it isn't almost kills it. Especially for the price, little things like the stupid backwards arm panels or the missing detail on the head or the amateurish face sculpt shouldn't exist. How did those get glossed over? I honestly think it'd bug me less if the figure wasn't as good, because there's no reason those few small issues couldn't have been resolved with ease.
I agree, though I don't dislike this one's size, I simply prefer a Voyager (or maybe Ultra) size.
Probably for the same reason Howling Meteor has a head that basically can't look upward (unless they fix that before production).
Yup, Howling Meteor is a mess compared to this guy IMO.
Separate names with a comma.
