Well, how about finding a person that can design the crown and sell it on Shapeways instead?

Bummer. But we can survive another several days. Then I'll be thrilled to get this and GT Tyrant, after which my wallet can breath a sigh of relief that it doesn't appear anything else in which I'm interested will be released this year. The last few months have been frighteningly expensive…

Anyone who has this in hand, does it look like the hands can be swapped out for a set of articulated MP hands?

Haha yeah and several other figures, but unfortunately it wasn't in the cards this year. I'm hoping to eventually make it to one next year. :)

    Mine showed up today.

Overall I am REMARKABLY impressed. high-quality plastic, great paint. No noticable QC issues in teh one I received.

I have only 2 minor issues so far:

*The springs that hold his arm blades in place are a bit tough; it requires several pushing & the assembly being at just the right angle to deploy.

*I feel like i'm missing a step in teh transformation; he has a kind of gap between the leg section & the shoulders.

Need to tinker with it a bit more.

That pic nicely summarizes why I am fucking bored with toon style g1.

I really do hope maketoys keeps with the gf/cybertron designs. Some of the nicest design work that pulled me back into TF's alongside alternators.

Weird the swords are super easy to flip out on my copy to the point first couple transformations I kept accidentally pushing the buttons and having to reset them haha.

And yeah the legs don't sit right next to the shoulders there's suppose to be a gap at the side where the upper knee area rests against those folded out little blue bits.

And understand that I'm not dismissing those complaints*, I'm simply saying that in hand he's really good despite those complaints. Both of which seem to be engineering choices, BTW.

Put another way... I think you got the ToyWorld Coneheads when they were on sale at TFS, yeah? In hand, the engineering, transformation, and joint tolerances on Meteor make the TW Coneheads look like amatuer night.

Now, is Galaxy Meteor a better toy than Vanilla Meteor? Maybe, I won't have an opinion on that until I have Galaxy in hand. I think that if it is, though, that might be because it's easier to translate the Galaxy Force designs into show-accurate transforming toys than it is with G1 characters, and NOT because Vanilla Meteor didn't get any love. Vanilla Meteor is still the best Seeker on the market, period.

*Ok, I actually am kind of dismissing the lack of upward head tilt. Starscream's a pretty tall dude who, in my mind, is more likely to be looking down on someone than up at someone. But even if I accept it as a big deal, the waist swivel, ab crunch, and ankle tilts still put his articulation far ahead of MP-11, and half the people complaining about Meteor's head articulation are cool with MP-11.

I wish Maketoys actually called it "Vanilla Meteor".

Thundercracker could be Blueberry Meteor and Skywarp Grape Meteor.

Meteor would actually be one of the shorter figures I own once I finally do pick him up during a $15 Ebay sale. :lol

Plus, he NEEDS to look up to be able to talk to his old buddy FT Skyfire. ;)

I'm hoping that one day someone makes a replacement head with the ability to look upwards, because this guy really needs that ability, especially if I want to pose him in a flying position.

I'm holding out for Creamsicle Meteor, Peppermint Meteor and Lemon-Lime Meteor.

I know that last one is a longshot, but I think this design would work well for him.
