Alright, so I finally decided to put the suit on my RTS Prime instead of United Prime. Everything went pretty smooth, until I got to the head. Yes, you have to put the NEW head in boiling water for about 20-30 seconds to loosen it up.

So I popped the new head on...still VERY tight....tilted the head up and down (seemed ok)....twisted the neck left and right....STRESS MARKS!.....POP! head fell off...ball joint and all! now I have a headless RTS Prime....

Very Glad I decided not to use United Prime....but Now I need another RTS Prime....

NOt too happy....I've contacted Upgrade Commander..They emailed saying Maketoys was making new heads?....but no word yet on how they were going to distribute them...........be warned....

Well, that's not new. That's pretty well known.

However, the problem is that he boiled it according to instructions... and it STILL broke.

That's new to me. Does the instructions really say "boil this head for 3 minutes"? Do you have to add salt? :tongue

At least they are trying to correct the issue with making a new head.

Sucks that your Prime broke his neck. Hopefully you can get a new one for cheap.

Well the instruction says to boil it for 30 seconds but not everyone will get it right the first time round.

I boiled mine three times (at least) & only after that the head popped right in. Btw no need to use too much force, a gentle one will suffice. So don't be too paranoid abt it. A little patience is all it takes.

What I don't get is why they didn't just make a head that screws together like a standard Hasbro/TakaraTomy release.

The head should be boiled for at least a minute but a minute and a half couldn't hurt either.

It's too bad the instructions aren't correct in this regard because it isn't really an issue other than that.

You could always sand the ball joint a bit if your that nervous. I was thinking of doing that to mine when it gets here. Just a bit not to much. Will allow for better head movement.

Now what is the best grain to get to have it smooth?

The finer the grit sandpaper, the smoother the surface will be. I'd say extra fine to super fine. Remember: the higher the number, the finer the grit.

    you and me both
also, I'm not a fan of the extra sword being a first release exclusive.
why couldn't they just sell it with the set no matter what,
or at least resell it at a decent price separately so people that bought the kit and did not receive it can get a chance to own it.

Wow, this news (for me) makes me even more hesitant to get Giant.
Having to boil a figure's head is one step further than I want to go in order to make a toy "work".

You don't need to put any new parts onto Giant though. Everything else about Battle Tanker should be pretty solid.
