Something I always wondered. Why do these mail ins take so long? Especially in this day and age.

My check was cashed a few weeks ago at least, but nothing in the mail yet.

It's probably not a high priority.

They probably wait for a 'big batch' to send out at once.

This is still a mail-in with a paper check for payment. It's not a credit card transaction or instant electronic funds transfer done online. So how is it supposed to happen faster with the advantages of "this day and age"?

Checks get taken out electronically, takes days to ship something. The checks were cashed weeks ago.

The Qui-Gon Jinn mail in figures were fast than this. And the checks were sent to the same location.

id imagine they are waiting until the deadline hits and will probably wait another month to see if any make the dead line or were at least post marked by that date. once that happens they will probably start shipping them.

im just glad it is not a brand new mold or figure as i would be going nuts right now. ive already received 2 of these through a friend in canada deff worth it at least for the chrome bits to swap and place on the first release ravage.

There are at least 100 sitting in a bin about 5 minutes from my house at TRU. I am still not really sure why they didn't include Canada in the mail in, or just make it a TRU exclusive down there too.

It's still paper checks that are mailed in. The payment processing is longer than total electronic payment.

Takes days to ship something.... what do you mean? How long it's in the mail or how long until someone mails something?

Because... the checks were cashed weeks ago... probably, but like I said in my post, they're probably waiting for a big batch(not making a run to the post office for each check & each Ravage). So yes, once it's in the mail it doesn't take long.

Do you really have dates for comparison? All those figures were faster or yours was? Did you send in for Jinn later(ie closer to the deadline)?

Mailed to the same place, Hasbro still processing it, so then what is the explanation? You have some theory? It's probably mis-remembered comparisons of waiting time and/or Hasbro putting this as a lower priority or a reduced staff to handle it or even perhaps the Recon Ravage shipment was behind schedule compared to Jinn.

Any of those explanations.... So? They haven't arrived yet. You have to continue to wait. And so.....?

I'm guessing that Star Wars = A LOT mo' money and orders than Transformers.

    I didn't get mine either.
The post about "this day and age" made me think how this process could have been sped up. Here is my idea:
-Instead of a sticker each figure gets a unique code like under a bottle cap of soda. Each figure meaning each individual figure of a specific toy. For example each individual Voyager Optimus Prime would have a different code. This code could be stamped on a sticker or on the instruction booklet.
-An online system would allow you to sign up and enter the required # of codes (like attaching the stickers to the form)
-The deluxe two-pack could have a code that has an embedded pattern that the system recognizes as a requirement before a submission.
-Once you entered the required codes, you just pay shipping via CC, paypal, etc
-They ship it to you the following day like a normal store
-You get it hopefully within one week

Is this soooo hard to implement? Of course we would have to stop calling it a mail-a-way and instead call it 'submit-a-way????'?

No need to be a dick man. Just wondering if any one got their Ravage yet and how some mail ins take so long. That's all.

If you want, I can go through my check book and bank records to see if it really did take so long with Qui-Gon.

    Ouch, why so harsh, bro?

I think the point is, most folks aren't accustomed to waiting months and months for an item to arrive after payment was made and checks cashed.

I agree that waiting for one or two mass mailings is the most likely reason.

And you know, that's all he had to say.

I did check my records if the Qui-Gon Jinn mail in did go a lot quicker.

Sent a check 10/24/09, check cashed 11/5/09, got the figure sometime after that because after I got him, I sent ANOTHER check 12/17/09. Now that one I'm still waiting for I did get a letter from them saying that it would be delayed.

That the rest of the world gradually gets him at retail while we wait doesn't help much either.
