When's the last time hasbro did exclusive mail away figures? I was looking at the generations book and remember wanting Reflector and Camshaft so bad.

I'd buy 5 tfs to get an exclusive scout class new mold or 10 for a deluxe (classics G1 style though). Brand new character, like they did in the 80s.

Yeah. Recon Ravage last year with the N.E.S.T. promotion. Had to buy the Infiltration Soundwave/Battlefield Bumblebee two pack and two other N.E.S.T. figure.

Yeah it'd be nice if they did it more often. I get the Littlest Pet Shop mail aways for my daughter. They do like 2 per year or something, but then you also have tragedies like GI Joe mail away Doc.

Yep, Recon Ravage last year. Plus they still do mail away Star Wars figs on a very regular basis. Like two or three a year. I would love mail-away figs, HOWEVER only for exclusive repaints. For example, if they did mail away figs for TF: Prime, I'd want it to be a minor repaint. For example, if they released a Cliffjumper fig at mass retail, the mail away could be a zombie Cliffjumper repaint. If they only offered main characters as mail away figs the demand would be too much, not everybody would get a chance at getting the figure, and we'd have a situation similar to G1 Reflector: Way too much for a rather average figure that only costs so much because it was harder to obtain.

yeah movie figs seem more likely but I'd like a classics design myself. Like what they did with boba fett for star wars. They coulda went with a Jango fett but they went classic.

I wonder if cost plays a part to why they don't do as often...

plastics wise I know there is about a dollars worth of material. Shipping and labor I have no clue about but then you have to look at at cost for the store which has to be about 5 to 6 for a deluxe figure. Considering the give aways have more to offer (3 deluxes for that one last year, a pcc and a ss for last one for only 2 deluxes bought or 20 dollars). They also have a pretty big profit margin on the figures.

The ravage one would count , once a year would be nice so maybe if they do it again we can get a classics camshaft? That'd be cool.

I'd imagine so. I'm no toymaker or anything, but it would seem that making GI Joe and Star Wars figures would be less involved and all around easier and cheaper to do than say...a transformer. I guess also, this kind of goes into the reason the club exclusives are higher priced than the normal mass-marketed and even store exclusives. Cost of the casting process, paying the factory workers, shipping costs, etc. Yay capitalism!

To be honest, with all the cancelled figures, Hasbro could make these mail away on HTS spend 50$ before shipping and get a figure....

There are no cancelled figures haha, that's part of the rumor mill. Don't buy into the speculation.
