Thread created due to the direction the Megadeth and Metallica one was going. Which of these two do you prefer?
I like both bands pretty much the same. However, Angel of Retribution by Judas Priest is my favourite album to come out of the two bands, so my vote goes to Priest. They also reference Transformers in a song called Hellrider; Here they come these gods of steel, Megatron, devouring what's concealed

It's a hard one... Judas Priest by a hair. One can't deny that Iron Maiden have written and performed some great material through the years, and yeah, both bands have had some stinkers too. But I prefer the twin attack of KK and Glenn and their style over the epicness of Maiden. Beyond the Realms of Death and pretty much anything off Stained Class is amazing.
Maiden by a mile. Priest have done some pretty good stuff (Heavy Metal, All Guns Blazing to name a couple) but for me I've found myself enjoying Iron Maiden very consistantly.
I've seen both bands live, and although the groups are great in their own right, Iron Maiden is at the top for me. It helps that they were the first metal band I ever saw in concert when I was 13. Iron Maiden has the depth, meaning and consistency that stands the test of time. I really like the Dianno stuff, but Dickenson took Maiden to new heights. Besides, Eddie is one of the coolest metal icons out there.
Priest have been fantastic everytime Ive seen them live, but Maiden are just something else. Maiden ftw
