Huffer is an expensive little fellow, north of $30.00 from hzj401.........
I just ordered him and the skittles mft seekers from him today.....
Still no NA pre-orders? Weird. I expected something by now since Ultra Magnus and Red Alert are supposed to be arriving soon at TFSource.
Did anyone find a way to store the guns on vechicle mode for side swipe and red alert?
He finally arrived. Every bit as phenomenal as Sideswipe. Magic Square is a new favorite.
Mine is doing that thing where it has left china but they haven't updated the tracking in two weeks and I worry it got lost in the mail.
I hate that. Mine vanished from the face of the earth for two weeks the second it hit Chicago customs until it showed up at my local post office yesterday. I’m just glad it showed up at all since things occasionally disappear completely once they get to Chicago customs.
Wow, the ugliest, shittiest little little brat is that expensive? That's some bs right there.
Same for me, but the shipping estimate is as late as Nov 14 so I'm not too concerned
UM, Seaspray and beachcomber arrived this week. To be honest, I’m actually not that keen on them. I dont want to come across as negative, but whilst I really like their inferno and grapple, these guys do/don’t do a few articulation things that I find really irritating when playing with them;
Seaspray has fairly limited elbow bend, (which would be fixable by trimming a bit of plastic off it think);
UM has short thighs (something I’m a broken record about, complaints wise) which limit his lower half posing;
I imagine it’s due to the plastic they’re using, which yields benefits elsewhere, but I really feel the lack of a ball jointed head;
The tilt-only ankles are better than nothing, but a lot less useful and intuitive than ball joint ankles;
The upper parts of their thighs don’t have great clearance with the crotch pieces, meaning you have to kind of work the legs in a counter intuitive way to get certain angles of poses to work.
Basically, the above elements combine to give me a feeling of restriction when playing with them. They look good, and have great transformations, but I find them irritating rather than fun to pose and move in robot mode - and that’s one of the main things I want in a transformer (and something I think the legends scale can deliver especially well).
Again, I don’t want to come across as condeming these figures: I’m sure plenty of you will really enjoy them - but I guess their design philosophy just doesn’t prioritise the ‘playabilty’ factor that I’m after. So for the same reason that I don’t have many masterpiece tfs, I guess I won’t be getting as many magic square releases as I thought I would. which is ok- just a bit disappointing given how much else they do right.
Hoist looks to be the next one Of who they’ve revealed that I’ll take a punt on I think - ball feet, better location of the knee pivot and I think decent arm articulation.
Apologies for lack of photos - um is at work, plus I’m feeling lazy
^Love these guys, Magic Square is killing it in my opinion.....
I've always been a Joe collector and I don't know if I'm just more comfortable with the 3.75" scale, but these guys are awesome.....
Only problem is these guys and mft look so great together yet I hear are not in scale despite both being legends sized. Shame really.
They’ll probably both burn through all the main cast at some point. One for a bit more with less accessories but in for a penny...
MFT is regarded as "Legends+" scale. Their small bots like Huffer and Pipes are modern HasTak Legends class sized, and the figure size goes up from there.
MST figures are scaled in the more traditional Legends size, like DX9's small figures are.
So, unfortunately there's a size difference between the two manufacturers. The good news is that you can mix and match to suit your own personal scale, and MFT is starting to bump up some of MST's figures to the Legends+ size, like Ultra Magnus and Inferno.
A few Magic Square Ultra Magnus comparison photos...

Which UM looks best with this group?
Magic square hands down is the best.....
Yay the tracking finally updated on mine it isn't lost in the mail.
Although IF's design still holds a place in my heart, as far as the group shot goes, MS's figure matches the aesthetic of the others much better.
