I already purchased House of the Dead: Overkill when it was full price during the buy 2, get 1 free sale at Target. I'm sitting on the fence with MadWorld, even though it's a fantastic game. I think it's just that the violence level isn't appealing to me? I know that sounds weird since I enjoyed Overkill, but the violence in HotD is more...fantasy.
I don't know, maybe it's the fact that i'm used to the House of the Dead series and could never take it seriously. Even combined with the language which is to me is more there to be novelty, mirroring the grindhouse styling. I will admit House of the Dead actually has the more intense and provocative scenes. However, the overall presentation of MadWorld with the more intense language and graphic imagery some how makes it so that I enjoy it less.
