For those that care. In my opinion, this looks no better than Madden 06. Even in the small screens, the grass still looks awful. There's no "life" or flare at all. The whole thing just looks bland and unexciting.

Yeah, the thread title could have easily said "Madden 06 Screens".
    I'm not surprised.

Character Models look ok, but yeah, the backgrounds look bland. I remember when EA showed that CG movie on MTV showcasing what the 360 game would look like. And they rag on Killzone.

And this is exactly why exclusivity in sports games is a bad, bad thing. The lack of competition is really starting to show.

But EA makes all the money back that they spent on that exclusivity because all the fanatic shmucks will just pick up the new copy just for the stats.

agreed. i'm a huge football fan and the fact that there is only one game i can purchase to get my fix is just frustrating...makes me want to pick up a dreamcast and nfl2k1 which imho is still the best football game ever made.

Ahhh, when Madden was innovative, fun and a fresh experience at least every other year.

I still can not believe they packed that much voice into a friggin' Genessis/Megadrive cart. Considering the extremely sparse dialog in the Madden games, they should just be embarrassed.

Hey, it's great for EA and the NFL, it just sucks balls for the players. Even the people that only buy Madden get screwed since EA doesn't have to put nearly as much work in when there's no competition.

    Those were the days.
I always bought Madden, but we would rent Joe Montanna a few times to check it out.

My dad never beat me on either one!

I know that's not exactly what you said, but its what it seems like to me.

Sorry if you took it that way, it's not what I meant. They do still have to do work, and they do. I just think that without the competition they don't take it as far as they could or put as much work into it as they would have to if there was another game out there ready to bite into their marketshare. I mean, why wouldn't they spend less resources on it when they don't have to? Doesn't make much business sense to do that.

Ya the grass looks like they took a photo and ran to many sharpness filters over it.
