I want to vote Green; Because that's his original toy. But then he'll have a solid green leg. And that would be weird. So it needs to be purple for the combiners sake. Sometime's colors needs to change.
That works pretty good. MixMaster Green with a purple stipe. I wouldn't be displeased with that. Grey? And to people who want to see Grey: Weather you like the grey or hate the grey: This is a G1 Homage figure, it radiates nostalgia. MixMaster has had a green, purple, yellow, and in one case orange. Grey is not on the list for the solo reason of; MixMaster never had grey before. I like the gray, after that the purple I suppose, but I would even be ok with green. What I don't like is the purple on Scrapper. If that were gone and he was fully green, then the green barrel would be better.
i'm a grey drum guy myself...why? because when you put aside nostalgia, and classic figure and toon and comic designs, aesthetically, grey just looks better...IMO of course... though i know realism is out the window here, having a grey drum adds a hint of realism...i guess green is the next best thing, but a purple drum? c'mon...thats too much purple...hints and touches are fine (i dislike Long Hauls purple legs BTW) but big splotches just are too glaringly obvious...again, IMO as i've said before, it doesn't really matter, as my Herc WILL have a grey drum one way or the other...he'll also have a shade of grey thighs...and weathering...and battle damage...f*@# re-sale value
We have not gotten final colors on the figures until about a month from release. We have not gotten final colors for Scrapper yet and he is up after Longhaul so I expect to see his final colors in October. So the safe bet for seeing what Mixmaster is going to look like is March since his tentative release is April next year.
