Funny how this particular repaint design of Macross seems to be very popular amongst the Macross collectors. Anyway white's a True Pain in the neck to paint. Oh and aurascope, I'm not really sure what type of model this is except that its size is 1/48.

Thaks big Hank! Was kinda tired of painting Transformers. Had to take a break and opt for a change.

You have 35???!! 35 of this 1/48 sets???! I'm speechless. Hahah. You recognize the design that I'm painting? ANy idea why it's so popular??? Got a few requests for this particular design.

yes, i like the yamato VF-1 series in 1/48 scale very much.

apparently, the enigma scheme was never officially produced, and the 1/48 is a high detail model marketed as a toy. I'm not a macross fan, so I don't know the background of the enigma scheme. but there are many aftermarket decal sets created for this scheme

yes, the white is the stock plastic with a clear coat.

this was intended for rough play so only the red was paint.

the 4 head lasers are custom from hollow brass rods,
eyepiece visor is recasted in crystal clear resin tinted blue.
hands are MG gundam. industrial grade paints and primer used for durability and its way cheaper than tamiya imho.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Anyway, it's cool if you guys want/need to deviate on other customs related to this design. It's really thoughtful of u all but I'm really cool with it.

Well, if anyone knows why this scheme is quite in demand, do lemme know yeah. Very curious myself actually.

I would say that the VF-1J is the easiest to find and most produced model. This is probly because it is the "most widely used model" at the end of the original series. These types of Valkeries are allways going to be around because they are "classic macross" one of the things that made it memorable and really really cool. As such they will never go out of style much like G1optimus and megatron.
