Hey guys! For the last little while I have been uninspired to bash or repaint any TFs so I have found myself back to building an odd model kit here and there. This is my latest work, the Tomahawk Destroid from the Macross/Robotech series. It is produced by a Japanese company called Wave and is 1/72 scale and a really nice kit!! I picked it up from HLJ.com. The kit features things like a cockpit that opens, and missile launchers that flip up and a shoulder missile pod that has 6 individual doors that open and has a pretty good level of detail molded into it. Well on to the pics and I hope you enjoy it!!
Very Nice! Recently got an original 1/72 ARII kit of the TOMAHAWK & have a slew of coolness planned for him! GO MACROSS!!
Sweeeeeet! I just picked up a bunch of these kits for a steal a while back. The Tomahawk was always one of my favorites, and your paint up here has done them justice!
That is REALLY cool...I have a couple of Mad Cats, that could use a Warhammer buddy...hell toss G1 Jetfire in there as a Phoenix Hawk, and we'd have a full fledged lance going for us! VERY nice kit my friend...well done!
VERY nice. I like the design better than most non animated TF movie based designs . The aesthetic is smoother an more organized. That says a lot considering how old the property is.
Spheroid git. Lucky salvage to get one Timber Wolf, let alone two. Take it with some other classic copyright violators - A Whammy's a fast heavy, P-Hawk a jumping medium. Sounds like a skirmisher/heavy recon build to me - roll out an SHD-2H Shadow Hawk as an all-rounder and VLK-QA Valkyrie for quick shoot'n'scoot bombardment.
Here's some valkyries I did that were in 1/144 scale. I believe the destroids were in the same scale. The kits are the ARII kits, but the strike package that came with the ARII kits were way too small so I used the oversized strike package from a Bandai kit. Here's one of a cyclone, I can't remember what scale it was in but the finished kit is only like 3 1/2 to 4 inches tall.
there is a bunch of guys that play Battle tech on Friday by my friends house. I so want to roll up there one day and slap down my Battlemaster and Phoenix Hawk figure and say lets go.
Back in the day, my group would play Robotech the RPG. Back when all you needed were some dice, paper, pencil some munchies and an imagination. The good old days!!!
