Unfortunately I never shelled out the dough for the Animeigo set back when it was cheap but i was looking on www.robotech.com and found the complete Macross boxset with all 36 eps remastered in japanese with subtitles for $60: http://www.robotech.com/store/viewproduct.php?id=93 Then there are these: http://www.robotech.com/store/viewproduct.php?id=95 The series split up into three boxes similar looking to the animeigo ones but for 67.50 a pop! what could possibly make them that much more expensive? to make this all worse i checked amazon.com, bestbuy.com etc and they don't have any of these boxes even listed. anyone have the much appreciated dirt?
I have the HG released Animeigo box set and couldn't be happier. I'm a bit surprised that the price has gone up considering it was $40 a few months ago.
That would be the complete one, which has the same discs in it as the three individual sets. HG basically brought up all of Animeigo's remaining stock when thier licence expired and repackaged them at a lower price.
