I was also working on Needlenose deco for submission, but missed the deadline because I didn't finish the bash on the bot mode in time, but I'll still share:

The goal was set at 80k to produce the figures. Now there are stickers and t shirts.

Doesn't the cost of producing these just take funds from the overall budget for the figures?

Now you have 80k to produce all the figures and the stickers and the t-shirts.

If that costs you 1k on stickers and t-shirts, that's money not going into the figures.

Why not then just set the goal lower to what you actually realistically need for the figures? That extra could be the difference between success and failure.

Always wonder this with Kickstarter too.

It's broadening their pricing to get more people.

It's a way for people who are interested in the project, but don't want to commit to a whole figure right now to pledge their support. There are people who are interested in the concept, but don't want to get the figures offered (maybe want a conehead or one of the variants later down the line), don't want to put money down now, costs too much now, want to wait and see, etc. The sticker and t shirt allows them to support the line with a lesser cost than the $90 per figure.

With your example, if they spend 1k on stickers and t-shirts, but get back 1.5k in pledges from people who wouldn't have pledged normally, but decided to do so with the lower cost, that's an extra $500 for their costs. I'm sure they've probably calculated the risk and rewards in opening up lower pledge amounts, and decided to go forward.

MAAS Toys made the following post on Facebook and Twitter:

"We've some requests from people that want the Pointmen over the Air Soldiers. If our campaign is successful, all six figures will be made, but depending on any funds beyond the goal determines how quickly they will be produced. Our question to you should we open the Pointmen pledges now? Let us know in the comments as well!

You can find our campaign at MAAS Toys – Air Soldiers Project As always thank you for your support!"

What does everyone think? I think it would be good to give people options, especially if they only want the Pointmen and want to support the project.

They also posted faces for the Pointmen.

Looks like MAAS Toys has opened up pledges for their Coneheads as well. Anyone else getting these?

    From Facebook:

The people have spoken, pledge options for the Pointmen are now open! The time is running out, let's get this funded so all six figures can released worldwide! Remember you do not have to pay unless the campaign is funded, use the crowdfund option at the checkout! MAAS Toys – Air Soldiers Project

They also posted a cool poster that you can print out and put up at your local shop

Yeah, I agree. I've been wondering if I'm one of few people who are excited for these figures. People have complained there aren't enough third party figures coming out but then they're not supporting the stuff like this. There has to be more people into stylized and fun figures, right? Or does everyone just want $300 animation accurate figures?

I wonder if this will be popular enough to get further repaints. Characters like Hotlink, Sunstorm and Bitstream. This mold would work even better for them, IMO.

I went in today for not-Thundercracker. If I get surveyed for recolors, my first choice is SG Starscream.

I think the biggest detractor is paying for figures that are a year away if funded. I know that I'm not a fan, even though I put in for the first three.

The white chest parts on Thundercracker and Skywarp... shouldn't that be what's also red on Starscream's chest? Not just the top part?

The red should go a little lower into the torso. At that size, the grey should be maybe a quarter inch stripe across the waist line starting just above the hips.

So, yes, you're right. Those detailed portion should be red.

If people are gonna get in on these, they better do it soon. Less than a week left to pledge and they still need around 50% more funding to make these guys a reality.

I'm worried that Maas' Calendar timing is hurting this. The thing ends, and thus people will be charged, as TFCon is ending and a lot of people will have their money going there.

I'd have loved to back this but, unfortunately, these figures are way too big for a CHUG collection and too small for MP.

MAAS needed to pick a lane rather than split the difference.

Howling Meteor is 8.5" tall. Tetrajets are 7.87" tall.

    So that's how.

As the end date for the pledges in TFCON - does that mean that they will be heavily pushed there to try to help make up the numbers ?
