Matt Trakker leader of mask will now be part of gijoe.

G.I. Joe Specialist Trakker Is Matt Trakker Leader of M.A.S.K. - GI Joe News

That means the following shows/ toys take place in the same universe--

    transformers/ beast wars, beast machines
    battle beasts
gijoe/ sgt savage and his screaming eagles/ gijoe extreme
    c.o.p.s
    mask/ vor-tech
    inhumanoids
    jem

Any chance for a msk/ transformers crossover with an autobot thunderhawk.

how do cops, inhumanoids and jem fit into the tf universe? other than being cartoons in the same decade, i'm not quite sure how your connecting the dots.

why must there always be only one true universe for cartoon continuity.

multi-verse people. it's a cartoon. it's not meant to make linear sense.

There's a few TF's that are like MASK, where you can pop out enough features in car mode without transforming it. Like G1 Track's or Armada Blurr's wings ...

Wish we had a thread dedicated to TF's with alt mode functions similar to MASK

I don't know about Cops and Inhumanoids, but Jem had the same TV reporter running around, that Transformers and GI Joe had.

None of those toys/cartoons take place in the same continuity.

Not even G.I. Joe and Transformers. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Either way, this is pretty old news. Did that Matt Trakker figure even come out yet?

As much as I loved M.A.S.K. as a kid... This seems a little pointless in the grand scheme of things.

Next they'll be telling us that Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors are canon too... Although that'd be cool! ^^

Just because they are bringing him in now doesn't mean he was always there.

    Not yet.

Hector Ramirez has been in most, if not all of the old Hasbro/Sunbow cartoons. A small "crossover" doesn't a continuity make. Some would also argue about Mellisa Fairborne and her father making an appearance in Season 3. Her father is supposed to be Dashell Fairborne, aka Flint.

I look at it as a simple "alternate reality" type deal. They exist in similar worlds, but not the same one.

Take the G.I. Joe toon for example. There were no Transformer cameo's, or any such mention of them. Even the comics (minus the latter end of the G.I. Joe run where they horribly crossed over with G2) kept all the "G.I. Joe meets/vs The Transformers" crossovers in separate continuities.

All it really means is that they had a slot for a figure using parts that have been used, or will be used, for a better recognised character, and decided to squeeze a little extra money out of the tooling.

I'm just glad it wasn't another Duke.

Last i remember, several of the characters that have been released in the 25th line are dead. So i'm not so sure about what sort of continuity the line actually has.

    Wave 11 / October i think.

"Flint also has a connection to the Transformers series. Fans speculated for two decades that the character, Marissa Faireborn, in Transformers is his daughter. A point for this speculation is they both share the same last name. In one third-season Transformers episode ("The Killing Jar") where she encounters an illusory version of her father, he was voiced by the same actor as Flint in the G.I. Joe series, Bill Ratner. The writers of both shows to remained coy whether Marissa Faireborn was actually Flint and Lady Jaye's daughter or not. However, cast notes for "The Killing Jar" refer to Marissa's father as being "a 60-year-old Flint". The mystery was finally solved on November 7, 2006, with the 20th anniversary DVD release of Transformers: The Movie. On an interview on the DVD, Flint Dille, story editor for Transformers, confirmed that Marissa Faireborn is indeed Flint and Lady Jaye's daughter"

Regardless of the fact its from Flint (G.I. Joe - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia), if the story editor says they're linked a such, then they're linked...

Did you not read the link at all? Gijoe makes cameos in killing jar, prime target, and only human and prowl, jazz, and another autobot shows up in a news report in an episode of gijoe!

Sorry to burst your bubble but the shows all take place in the same world, like it or not. All you guys saying they don't READ THE LINK.

As for C.O.P.S. Wasn't there some speculation on how some of the members were decendants of the Joes like Marissa Fairbone of Transformers. And the only reason hasbro is releasing a Specialist Trakker figure is because Hasbro absorbed Kenner in the 90's and may be testing the waters for a MASK anni. line. but that's just speculation on my part.

transformers and g.i. joe have always had a relationship, yes, that i can be sure about, but trying to throw the rest of those shows in is pulling and stretching imo. the original comic cross over was pretty cool, and a cool origin for goldbug.

throwing MASK and JEM and inhumanoids into the mix is just pushing it. maybe THEY belong together, but putting them in the same universe and timeline as joe and TF's all due to hector ramirez is a weak argument.

only reason we have a mask figure in joe now is that hasbro can do whatever they want to, and maybe they had to do something to keep the copyright or something..

Actually it does have to do with copyright. Due to the movie "The Mask", they can't just relaunch M.A.S.K., because they don't own the rights. It also has to do with the fact that a couple people working on the 25th Joe's Line are M.A.S.K. fans themselves, and so pushed Hasbro to see if they could at least test the waters to see if they could maybe start the line again.
