I got RtS Lugnut in the mail today. Neat design, but the figure doesn't stay together very well.

I was able to "fix" the loose chest piece by tightening the joint it's on, but the shoulder assembly just flops all over the place. The best thing I've been able to do for the shoulders is to shove the tail section up under it.

Does mine just have bad QC, or do a lot of people have these problems? Use this thread to post fixes.

My problem with RTS Lugnut is that I've never come across one in the wild.

Sounds like you aren't pushing in the tail joint far enough. Check out the feedback thread. That slide joint is super hard to get to go all the way in but, it will.

I typically see people ask questions about the actual proper/best way to transform figures in this forum, with discussions on the overall quality over in feedback.

So, I'm not sure. It seems like a grey area.

I don't think that's the case. Looking at it, the plastic for the tail is ramming right up against the slider mechanism's housing. The red part that's the actual slider is visible underneath Lugnut's chin, to the sides.

I had 3 lugnut pass thru me, none have the issue you spoke of. So yours is probably a bad apple. At least, it can imply that its not as wide spread as you think.

i recently picked one up from my local supermarket and he is missing the entire upper canopy, the piece that folds up and onto his back not the two rubberised plastic bits. didnt notice it in the shop because he was only 7euro. once i saw that i went toy blind and just picked him up. doesnt bother me because he was gonna be used in a custom anyway.
just be wary of that missing piece if anyone comes across one.

There is two tabs on the shoulder section that click into two slots on either side of the torso. (under each arm.)

To my knowledge, this figure does not come with the shoulders snapped into this position right out of the package.

You have to go ahead and snap the shoulders in the correct place once you get Lugnut out of the package.

It's likely that you didn't do this and that's the reason they're so floppy.

Sounds like you got one that should not have passed QC. My Lugnut is great.

Nah, I noticed those. They just keep popping out of the slots. I think the shoulder fuselage part is kind of warped outward.

I did find a workable solution beyond "RAM THE TAIL UP THE SHOULDERS, HARDER, FASTER, STRONGER." Quite simply, I rotate up the shoulders like normal and then peg them into the tail section. Doing this also allows me to get the cannon over his shoulder, with a little cutting on the plastic that's preventing it from swinging down all the way.

So while I'm not 100% pleased with the tail jutting out so far, I much prefer having him solid and given Lugnut's bulky proportions, it doesn't look too bad.

Anyway, has anyone else figured out that his canopy piece makes a neat hat for Lugnut's head?

Mine still doesn't snap in...how much force do you need to apply? I'd rather not break him.

^ I don't think it's a matter of pressing down. If they don't clip in, they're not going to. The plastic's probably warped. I suggest rotating the shoulders up and then plugging them into the tail section. Works pretty well for me.
