    LSOTW: Rotorstorm (Version 2)

    Everyone's favourite strategician, Rotorstorm!

Here he is, straight from the shooting of his documentary "Rotorstorm: Sky God".

    *cough*

Tomahawk is the perfect mold for this guy, cockpit chest, rotors on the back, legs are the undercarriage, arms are the tail, and there is that visor. Also, the blasters and missiles bare a strong resemblance to the original....hmmm.

As usual, Tamiya acrylics, automotive paint and...uh...pink nailpolish were used for this guy. The camera kinda killed the colours a bit, but overall yes, he is that good.

Photos getting better? I think so.

And as is becoming a trend with these threads of mine, a sneak peek at the next Wrecker.

Cool man! I freed up this guy and the tank when I replaced them with the fans project figures for my Bruticus. I stripped them of their connectors too so now they are ready to custom, I might try this!

Wrong mould dude, this was Tomahawk, the new deluxe from the HFTD line.

He is now an awesome Rotorstorm, slick apps man.

any general comments on painting this mold? I will be doing it shortly, and it looks like there are a lot of tight areas. I'll sand them all down, but are any unavoidable in terms of paint rubbing?

    Sanding?...i didn't....sand...*ahem*!

I wasn't able to remove the rotors, the cockpit assembly or the beginning of the shoulders (the bit with the ball joint), but it's all quite easy to mask. nothing has rubbed off yet -and i've been transforming him back and forth maniacally-, except the rounded parts in the middle of his shins.

Heads up though, as 'Storm's left forearm was glued together, so easy to bend/break the plastic.

Nice job, and that Wreckers group shot is sexy as hell. In fact I'm leaking lubricant already...

Excellent buddy I'm waiting for mine to arrive.

I'll follow the same process you did, I'll just scratchbuild a G1 head and new feet though.
Really good, excelent paintjob scheme you did, now I can see how good it really fits for a classics Rotorstorm.
