Loved The Teaser But WTF! Beagle 2?????????
Ok I Have to admit being a huge transformers Fan I was real excited to see the teaser. I think the direction they are going is good. I liked the idea of relating the story to actual events such as beagle 2. However as hard as I tried I cant help but pick apart 1 thing. Beagle 2 was not a rover!!!!! Beagle 2 was actually just a disk that unfolded and stayed in 1 place look here http://www.beagle2.com/index.htm. I guess it is not that big of a deal but really If your gonna use actual events do your homework a little better:google  . Im sure the movie will be good. Although I am expecting greatness which means I will probably be disapointed. Michael Bay....... Dude don't disapoint us.

Instead of using Beagle 2 they should have refrenced 1 of the 2 rovers we actually do have on mars. Or maybee even the polor lander which crashed on mars. Hell They could have used beagle 2 if they atleast used the actual beagle 2 design.

Yeah, it was pretty sloppy of them to make such rooky mistakes, considering how easy it would have been to research to see if the Beagle II was ACTUALLY a rover... or what colour the sky on Mars was, or where the Beagle II was actually launched from...

Instead of going in another direction with the teaser, they simply decided to ignore the facts that stood in their way. That's a pretty big mistake in my book.

I'm just going to nip this in the bud before we get ANOTHER discussion on this

So it's okay Dalego, none of that's in the movie so it doesn't matter.

And even if it was it wouldn't matter as this isn't a TRUE LIFE movie. And the average TF fan let alone the average movie goer most likely won't know and or care about the Rover 2 being a land platform as it really doesn't negatively impact the movie

Sometimes, folks don't read every page of a monstrous, 40-page, whine-filled complaint form disguised as enthusiasm for a movie teaser. Feh. C'est la vie.

It's not that big of a deal that they made the Beagle 2 a rover, or that Mars has a blue sky with clouds and looks strikingly similar to the Nevada desert.
What's really important is that the movie is accurate.

So I hope Michael Bay remembers the Hoover Dam is a nuclear power plant and that Megatron is not, in fact, a bunny.

remember, there are kids on this board, we don't need to say things like that, bunnies on the other hand, everyone love

So I suppose if a trailer had everyone walking on their heads and hamburgers eating people, there would be no problem with that because this isn't TRUE LIFE?

Look, I don't care what Snoopy-2 looks like. But it really is not too much to ask for research that a 4th grader could do.

Most people don't remember what happened yesterday, let alone in 2004 to the NASA Space program.

Movies don't need to make sense in the real world - true.
But they should make sense in the world that they exist in. For that reason if the probe was lost has wheels, then in that universe it does.

    Hamburgers eating people...
Could be the next Waynes brothers movie...

keep your pants on everyone, we don't need this turning into a huge flame fest over the little things that were missed...it was rushed after all.

I for one welcome our new hamburger overlords......

Seriously though, making your teaser trailer historically inaccurate sounds like the best way to squeeze some extra publicity out of the controversy.

Realistically, the things I find hardest to swallow are the amazing shutter speed on the rover's cameras, along with the wonderfully clear microphone made to suppress Mars' atmosphere. And who knows why they would ruin perfectly good pictures by superimposing nonsensical text over the shots.
But, at the end of the day, I think the teaser benefits from these dramatic liberties, and was never intended to be technically or historically accurate.

As the one who initially pointed this out, I am "seriously displeased" by this inaccuracy. It just reeks of sheer laziness and disrespect for an increasingly savvy moviegoing public.

Nobody said that TFs were real or the movie must predict actual future events, but c'mon people. If you reference real life events, GET THE DAMN EVENTS RIGHT!!! 2 minutes of homework is all it would have taken.

Here's my rewrite...with the same footage:

Now, how hard was that? The movie's characters can now claim that all the Spirit data has been faked to cover up the pending robot incursion. Moviegoers, TF fans and conspiracy nuts can all have a nice discussion.

...and historical events have been...tweaked...while allowing a plausable explaination for the changes...

Ah, screw it. I know nobody cares. Nobody cared when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor either...

I think it's really funny that people get uptight about all these realistic inacuracies when the movie is about giant transforming robots from outer space. Not meaning to start a flame war, just throwing it out there...
