Am I the only person who loves weapons like whips, chains, and flails for Transformers?

Like Animated Oil Slick's chain-barrel whip?
Beast Wars Tarantulus and Blackarachnia's grappling hook gun? Or the new Animated Blackarachnia's grappling claw?

Saddened that ROTF Jolt has toothpicks instead of retractable whips?

I think they just add a different, interesting level to display. You know, something you can't get with swords and guns. I think this applies to unique/awesome weapons outside of swords and guns (like the upcoming jet's trident :D ) but there's just something really awesome about these string weapons. They can do an awful lot in terms of poses, and the playability just goes through the roof.

Certainly I can't be the only one :D . What are some of your favorite TFs with weapons that use string or string-like plastic to make some awesome weapons?

Energon Landmine, Cybetron Evac, Re-issue Megatron (gave his flail to Classics Megatron), Optimus Primal are all figures I have with these features, and yeah I think they're pretty cool

I like them until the part when you have to wind them back in and get them to stay clipped in without looking untidy or with loops of string hanging out.

This is mainly what I was thinking of. Not the neatest but a necessary gimmick for spider bots.

got the Energon Hook Fast Action Battler Optimus Prime for $1. Thanks to that string keeping the missile attached it was easy to get it complete.

Also I got to fire that missile hundreds of times more than I would have dared without the string. So yes String weapons Rock.

But we need more Gundam Chain Flails. Animated Swoop has a decent one.

Animated actually has a few decent weapons in this style. I really like Jazz's energy-chucks or whatever they're called.

Not so much on Transformers, but when I was a kid Webstor was my favorite He-Man toy because of his working grappling hook :D

I'm not a big fan of missiles with strings, because the strings are rarely ever long enough for the missile to go all that far or for the figure to use as a convincing "grappling hook". Same with things like the 'rescue line' on the Cybertron Evac mold. If a toy has a missile launcher with a string, I'll usually just cut the string off.

Flails, whips, chain weapons and morningstars, on the other hand, are neat weapons.

Beast Wars Optimus Primal has some pretty sweet weapons. I love his skull flail.

I like Tarantulas and Blackarachnias missiles but I wish the string part was removable or retractable like animated BA's. Animated BA's is pure win, all it needs is more string.

I liked using the hook on TFA Blackarachnia to make it look like her spider mode was dangling off my books on my desk.
(it fooled a couple friends who weren't paying attention.)

TFU Blades' hook is a mixed bag for me. it works great in alt, not so much in bot mode.

and i totally agree with the idea of TFs having more Gundam-esque flail weapons.
