I've been noticing a lot of smaller class figures in larger class boxes lately. It appears peeps are buying figures one class size down and then returning them in the bigger bots' boxes. I've seen deluxe Bumblebee in an HA Bumblebee box, a Voyager Prime in Leader Prime box, and a ROTF Skywarp in a Masterpiece Skywarp box. This is something new, as I've only seen things like a 2007 Prime in ROTF Prime box before. Are others noticing this?

Well in these challenging economic times, i guess even repackers are under pressure.

    /sarcasm.

This is nothing overly new. Back during Cybertron someone posted pictures of a returned Cybertron Metroplex that had a white power rangers zord figure inside.

Something like this doesn't speak well about the store employees' ethics or judgement.

Or at the very least the attention they pay to returns, and/or the policy of the stores they work at.

this and on the HA figures the closeness in appearance between them and there Deluxe versions sadly makes rather easy to pull off which is why ( screen accuracy aside) I wish they had changed something on the paint apps enough to make it more difficult to get away with swapping them.

Sadly the main problem is the employees in returns letting this stuff get successfully returned, and store policies that allow for easy returns with little to no questions asked.

I do think Hasbro should do more in the way of packaging to make it more difficult to successfully toy swap, there is packaging available that is impossible to reseal to a degree that it appears to have never been opened, for what ever reason Hasbro chooses not to use it.

Changing the color wouldn't matter I don't think. When people return things to say Walmart the 2 people in Customer Service are having to deal with a line of like 20 people. So when someone returns something the employee doesn't really care what it is.

I don't think there's anything Hasbro could do.

Without seeing pictures I can't even imagine how anybody would be able to make deluxe BB fit in a HA box in a way that made it look even remotely like it belonged there- and the same is true for voyager Prime in a leader box.

Unless they've done a much more impressive repackaging job than I'm imagining it sounds like you could almost put an apple or a celery stalk in one of those boxes and the employees would still take it.

I love how people say its all the employees fault.

Seriously folks, what about the asshats that actually do the toyswapping in the first place?

I agree with you but if the employees caught the stuff it would never be allowed to be returned and the swappers would be stopped cold. I was never trying to put all the blame on the employees just pointing out the system that allows this kind of scummy behavior to happen.

THIS...when ever i see the return line at walmart or target it seems the only thing the employee cares about is if the barcode on the receipt and the barcode on the box are scanable...i have NEVER EVER seen a employee actually look over the entire front and back of the box of the item in question of being returned to make sure it is complete or not swapped out....they just scan, scan and give money back...

The challenge has been set. Next time I walk through Wal-Mart, I'm looking for Leader Class Veggie Prime. :)

I've seen several headless Animated Blitzwings, usually the head was rolling around somewhere in the box though. I think that's more of a common assembly error.

Especially considering you could return a TF in it's actual, original box and it STILL might not (most likely it won't) match the pictures on that box!
