Well, did you? I've read both glowing and not so glowing reviews on these discs and I'm not sure which to believe. Not to mention these are the theatrical releases only. So are they worth triple dipping (reg, extended, now reg. Blu)?

Yeah, I'd wait until Extended and wait even some more until they're on sale for a decent price.

Figures they would go with the theatrical run on the first Blu-ray release. I'll wait for the extended cut. I already have the extended cut on DVD to tide me over.

Same thing with the Star Trek movie collection, no director's cuts/extended cuts on the Blu-rays...:(

Waiting for the extended versions. Not worth it otherwise IMO.

I'm sure most are waiting for the extended cut....just seems ridiculous to not put it out at the same time.

I personally prefer the theatrical cuts. But I'm still gonna wait for the inevitable price drop.

Lol, I'll wait for the extended versions. By the way, anyone else get the feeling the same thing will happen to the Star Wars saga when it's released on blu?

    Extended or GTFO.

What? Non-special edition, then Special Edition? Don't I wish.

Yeah, I'll wait until the Extended Editions hit before getting the series on Blu-Ray. Not worth spending the money on the theatrical versions.

I got em' I don't mind having them as I still own the Theatrical DVD's (even after I about the Extendeds) when I want to watch the trilogy in one sitting, instead of over a week. I didn't think BestBuy's price was too bad either. They always make their launch week prices cheap on Blurays. I still have my extended DVDs and will double-dip when they do it on BR.

I was a sucker and bought them, but the extended versions wont be released until the Hobbit comes out at the end of next year at the earliest and even then Jackson may make us wait till the second part of the Hobbit for them.

Yeah, I wasn't going to wait that long either, especially when I sometimes watch the Theatrical versions on DVD from time to time.

That was my plan. I bought the box set when they originally came out (for around $120 i think) and they're still collecting dust on my shelf unwrapped. Literally: when I dust my shelves and see it I think "Oh yeah! I'll make time for it and watch it all in one sitting...some day." It's been almost six years.
