Lost Planet, verdict? Plus I think I'm still prejudiced to asian games... damnit.

So this is not helping my horrible theory that I think Im racist to asain video games. I was deciding to pick up a new 360 game and looked at Lost Planet and Splinter Cell Double Agent.

I played the Xbox live demo of Lost Planet and I couldn't bring myself to care about it. The human AI seemed boring as hell, and my character is very-very-very invincable to weapons fire, because I keep collecting the orange goo. As long as I got the goo I'm indestructable! The monsters where cool though, that gets credit. The mechs where cool, I'll admit but the action just didn't feel thrilling.

So I bought Double Agent instead. The big $59.99 price for Lost Planet also didn't help convince me to buy that game as well.

So.... What're your opinions on Lost Planet? Is it worth going getting it for nearly 60 dollars and does the action truly pick up?

Perhaps "prejudice" is a better term for what you're feeling.

I liked the demo, but I wasn't grabbed enough however to buy the full version.

And how the heck can one be racist to a video game? You actually think "this game is from Japan so I won't like it."? If you are a gamer, I cannot fathom someone making a statement like that and truely meaning it.

And yeah, Razerwire is right, thats more like prejudice.

    Lost Planet = 100% Win

Try playing it until you confront Green Eye and then see if you still feel like Wayne is invincible.

Shoulda used prejudice instead, but yes there have been many a time I've looked at a games graphics, notice the "anime" eyes and have completely lost interest, or noticed that it came from a Japanese developer and stopped caring or thought it was stupid.

I cant recall the last time I have ever bought a eastern video game.

I try not to judge, but that just seems bizarre.
So, when the awesome announcement that Devil May Cry was coming to the 360 hit, instead of excitement did you think 'Damn, that is an Asian game'?

What about Dead Rising? That is an 'Asian game' that has zero evidence of anime influence.

The gameplay in the final version of Lost Planet is much more polished and much more intense than the demo. You still may not be satisfied with the human AI, but the monsters will still have you struggling to stay alive, especially the bosses.

Well, I stopped caring about Devil May Cry on number two. Plus, I didnt have a platform of my own to play it at the time. I saw DMC 3's stuff and Dante saying stupid one liners looking redicilous was a turn off, and no platform.

Dead Rising I do not own, but caught my eye, that looks swell and the reviews are pretty convincing. I even got to see a friend of mine kill a zombie with a Megaman toy blaster, yes! He had a lot of balls to do it *bah-dum-bish!*.

Should I rather get Dead Rising instead?

Aaagh Green Eyes. I think I ran on to my roof screaming victory once I'd finally kicked his ass.

    Fuck I love that game.

I still dont see why people have such a hard time on Green Eyes. He was easy as hell for me.

I myself played the MP Demo of LP for a long time, had the LE version of the game pre-ordered. Single Player can be a pain in a few spots, mostly boss battles, till you figure there pattern. The Last Battle is straight out of ZoE. Online was where the fun was though. Great game.

heh. well the way you kill green eye isnt hard, it just gets frustratingly annoying when your VS doesnt move as quickly as you'd like and you get trampled hardcore. or you run out of ammo and in the process of procuring more get squished...yeah...green eye was frustrating. but it was satisfying to finally kill that muthah

Both of those games are a win if you ask me.
Dead Rising has no online mode, but it has tons of replay value.

Its great to start the game over and this time see Frank wearing the woman's clothes you put on at the end of the game.

Lost Planet has an online mode which equals replay value.
If you had problems with the human AI, then the online seems like what you would want. Similar situations but with human controlled enemies.
WARNING: The ending cinemas on Lost Planet are 100% Anime Influenced.

I don't understand the use of the terms "racist" or "prejudice."

Why isn't it just "I don't like anime" or "I don't like anything anime influenced?"

And now that I think about it, I believe the word you're really trying to get to is "biased."

Is Lost Planet a "it's worth the $59.99" game?

I really like Lost Planet, but there were some moments in that game that caused me scream.
