i worked at a major retailer as an appliance sales specialist. its not like i didnt see it coming but it sucks to put time in somewhere and they just let you go for some dumb reason. but at least i can enjoy the summer with my family.

Seven years of sales experience is nothing to scoff at. Take a little time off, work on that resume and I'm sure you'll be back to work in no time.

I take it you don't want us to know that reason or you would have told us already.

It wa attendance. But.. they schedule us till 11 when the store closes at 10 and at 10:30 tell is to leave. It was just a bullshit loophole way for them to get rid of people. I am going to focus on opening my toy store. Selling is what i am good at i am just going to do it on my terms

I'm sorry to hear about that. If I may ask, how were you terminated? If it's none of our business, I understand. I just wish you luck on finding your next place of employment.

EDIT: Nevermind, I saw your post explaining why.

Don't take time off, get looking for work now, sorry to say but the job market is extremely dismal and work is extremely scarce, the more time you take off from work the less chance you have of finding a job.

I would contact a local labor board or something along those lines. My wife was a manager for Family Video and the management training she got said it was illegal to tell people to go home before their scheduled tour was done unless for discipline reasons.
{Edit} Just found out from her that it is a Wisconsin law so maybe check with the state law on that.

Retail is a bitch. It makes you realize that just because an employer pays you doesn't mean they like you. 8 year retail vet, sooo lucky I managed to escape. Good luck man!

It means he was fired for not being there, despite the store closing at a certain time, and sending him home thirty minutes prior. -shrug-
