I thought Shockwave became the magnificence.
Yeah, I heard that one recently as well. Who knows, but the more I look at it the more I am convinced it's somebody's brain module.
i might have this wrong, but so does this mean that now nautica has lost all her emotional attachment to skids?
Yes. In the most cop out way possible. Why get over it the natural way when you can have a machine to do it for you?
Only to likely be a plot point later on methinks..
but wasnt it an accident, she didnt mean to do it i thought?
she was gonna extract her friendship with Velocity but lost Skids.
No, it wasn't unintentional. She was always going to sell her grief, thinking that she wouldn't have a use for it anyway after Skids got resurrected. Losing her friendship with Velocity was an upsell after they realized how cold his brain really was.
The selling wasn't unintentional, but from how I read it I don't think nautica or velocity really understood what nautica selling her grief actually entailed, so from that perspective nautica having no emotion toward skids as a result was unintended
I can get behind that.
it actually is really depressing when u think about it
I don't think this is *near* the end of that.
Also, it's not *gone*, it's just in a machine right now.
Well I wasn't interested in the main plot there but after so many years it was just wonderful to see big green meanie back in action. Let all hell rip loose Scorpie!
I still don't feel the weight of the skids nautica/relationship. What percentage of skids life did he know nautica?
Not sure. But from our perspective they had the personalitu tick two-parter(where they danced a bit and had a chat about amica) that one panel in Megatron's class, and some scattered background scenes in dying of the light(I don't think they even spoke to one another on panel)
So... as much as I like these two I can totally understand why you're not feeling that weight.
I seen them together in DJD arc Dying in the Light holding hands and hugging each other at Censere hide out in the back ground. Even with the big Amica Endura scene with the group I think Skids wanted the Conjunx Endura but it is there.
It is not that heavy either. So I get you
Doesn't seem like it was a attempt to be anti-romantic and underline that grief in itself has no actual purpose and so being able to extract it via a machine is not a "cop out" but a way to help a person who lost a loved one become fully functional faster and in a healthier way.
It seems more like Roberts was building towards a future episode where Nautica's loss of feeling for Skids might become a problem when she is needed to feel something for him.
I liked the story, but the execution was flawed imho.
In other news:
Final page. And the crowd cheers!!!
Also, there seemed to be a Medusa among Flame's troops.
I hope we'll get a Lord Imperious Delirious in IDW someday
What book or series am I missing that ties this together? I'm lost.
makes sense. The one series I don't have.
