The three-page iTunes preview for Lost Light #9/More than Meets the Eye #66 (yeah, I'm that guy) is online! Spoilers ahead, obviously.

Not just the preview, if you're quick you can buy the full issue before iBooks realise their mistake!

To be honest I felt it was an average issue, a few interesting revelations regarding the mysterious Cybertronians we've been seeing intermittently though. However, the last couple pages more than make up for it...
The "Grand Architect" is none other than Skorponok, and the "Resus Cradle" is really the motherflipping Magnificence!!!

The whole issue is available for download on itunes. Get it before it gets pulled. And then come back and talk to me about the ending.

    It was okay.

The Skids death thing was kind of doomed either way because she either a) chose to revive him to groans all around from the fandom about characters staying dead or b) decide not to and allow the author to make a slightly trite point about friendship (and personal responsibility, yes), rather predictably set up.

    Anode still grates hugely.

Interesting to see Skorponok back. Where did we last see him? Didn't we hear he'd escaped Garrus 9 perhaps? And I'm so glad he's brought The Magnificence back. Reminds me of the Roberts of the Eugenesis days, tying all those bits of old lore into new stories.

I would like to see more aliens interacting with Transformers in Lost Light. More than the other two titles it's set in the wider universe but we only really see Transformers except for tiiiiiny snippets. Shining Armour has made me think there is great potential for refreshing Lost Light with this approach.

I went and bought the book from iTunes, but didn't realize that I wouldn't actually be able to do anything with the file I got because I don't have any Apple device. I can't even read it. I can unzip the images in the .epub file as if it were a .cbz, but the .jpegs are unusable due to DRM. Ugh.

    Oh man, THAT ENDING.

I've been harping on "what about Scorponok" since LSOTW hinted he'd gotten out. One of the best parts of Furman's run, and now he's tied in with another aspect of said run that got forgotten!

You'll probably need to know who Anode and Lug are.

Okay that is definitely interesting. Though damnit now I miss Milne all over again. Imagine the Architect drawn by him. Sigh.

I am weak. I read all the spoilers.

OH WOW. The identity of the Grand Architect makes so much sense. I wouldn't have guessed it, yet in retrospect it fits perfectly - which makes it a great reveal.

I now want to go back and read a lot of stuff again with this new information in-hand, to see how it re-reads...

These are positive story choices. Roberts should keep doing this.
