"Who do we put on the cover?"
"The characters everyone hates"
I’m impressed. I always thought what happened to Rung early on in the series was a massive incongruity. Turns out that it was, but it was an intentional one.
Damn! Whirl's lines crack me up! I need that on stickers or a t-shirt. xD
So literally the full mtmte cast?
Man, I don’t see that at all. I’m not a super Anode fan but I love the rest of the bots on the cover.
People hate Nautica?
I'm honestly surprised they didn't find a way to replace her with Wingblade in that pic.
Yeah, totally hate Wingblade. Such a lazy repaint of Wing Saber
"...Yes. Yes, it would appear so." is possibly the most British reaction to anything since "By god, sir, I've lost my leg." and "By god, sir, so you have."
I love that Rung's reaction to finding out he's literally God is basically "well shit, yeah, I guess so".
Since when did people hate Tyrest and Pharma?
Darn, cut off right before the history lesson!
He’s talking about Anode with the all female cover.
I was being deliberately obtuse, yo!
I wouldn't say there's hate but more "hasn't done anything remarkable" or "has become less enjoyable in LL". She's just a socially awkward nerd who got rid of her affection for Skids. She started out fine but never went anywhere. Velocity's in the same boat with her. They could both be stand out characters but they seem more light replacements to other characters. Need a scientist and Perceptor or Brainstorm arent around? Nautica's your answer.
Nickel, on the other hand, has the baggage of "humanizing the DJD". With her around they went from new despicable pstchopaths to... having more depth than just blind killing? I mean the "office/workspace" angle isn't their best portrayal but I think people forget their killing spree is because they follow Decepticon doctrine to the letter. Meaning so long as you don't break it and commit to the cause you're fine in their books. I guess you could argue her leaving the group for Deathsaurus and ending up with the Scavengers is where she started becoming more unnecessary but I can't say for certain.
Anode and Lug have the "Trans-Transformer" criticism which no one really asked for and seems pandering which is never good. I'd go in further but I'm leave anything I missed to those that have the patience to explain this stuff in depth.
I am extremely interested in how Tyrest is taking all of this. Out of all the Guiding Hand reveals, he is the one whose established persona matches up the least with his true identity, given his established beliefs in Primus and actions. Major cred to Lawrence for making it clear in the art that Tyrest is not taking this reveal well; he looks utterly broken, and it’s kind of sad that no one is paying him any mind.
This sort of “coming to terms with an actual identity” story is really hitting the marks for me. LL’s finale is coming up super strong and I couldn’t be happier.
Yeah, he looks like he’s about to snap.
Who is everyone?
I like them all and I'm sure most of their figures would fly off shelves.
