Anyone else ever had to give up their TF collection because of moving, GF, etc? I used to have a huge collection of Beast Era, RID, and Armada toys before we moved. Now I've just started collecting and have had to start from scratch.

When I was a kid I had most of the Microman and Diaclone stuff, of course I had no idea what they were, I've proceeded to kick myself repeatedly :cry

I lost a bunch of the G1 toys I had when I was a kid. While I still have most of them, the ones I lost were Omega Supreme, Jetfire and Metroplex.

I'd never lose my collection due to a girlfriend.

Childhood stuff that got lost over the years, that's a different story.

yeah, i dont have to worry about losing the collection tomy fiance, cuz she understands it...shes a collector too...just not as insane as i am....if i were to ever trim my collection (which is mighty big) it'd start with all the crappy figures no one wants, and keeping the really great ones....that would suck....but hopefully ill never have to worry about that....

I've only ever lost one collection, and for the life of me I cannot remember what happened to it??

I had a load of Action Force/GI Joe figures when I was younger, was REALLY proud of my Dreadnoughts and Renegades.

Have been tempted some times to go on E-Bay and try to get them all back.

About 11 years ago, I had managed to salvage a whole box full of G1 Transformers from my parents' attic when I moved in with my (now former) roommate. They were all fairly beaten up but I was convinced I could restore them so they could at least be displayable. There was a bit of everything in there in various conditions: the Dinobots, Shockwave, Prime, Megatron, Magnus, Aerialbots, Stunticons, Constructicons, etc. When I finally moved out and got my own place a few years later, I went through this brief phase where I thought I was too old to collect toys anymore so I THREW THEM ALL AWAY!

The single dumbest thing I've ever done... :banghead:

On the bright side, looking back, there were probably only a few that were actually salvageable and I've since replaced them.

I've lost most of my original collection. No idea where they are. Either the depths of the loft or given away without my knowledge. Either way by the time I got back into TF's properlly during BW, I could no-longer find most of my originals. Still hope to locate them someday...

When I was 12 or so I wasn't playing with my toys as much. I had tons of TFs and TMNTs. My Dad approached me one day and said he knew of a kid that was less fortunate than I and asked if I'd be willing to give all my toys to that kid. It was one of those moments where I had to say 'yes'. I wish I hadn't now. I miss all my Turtles and TFs. Now I'm forever trying to replace those toys, but it's just not the same :(

I mentioned this to my dad about a year ago and he said he had no memory of this. That really hurt.

I hope that kid at least enjoyed the toys and was nice to them.

Don't scare me! I'm moving this week from a city to another!!!!!

Anyway, I'll store my little collection (a 40 transformers, 3 Power Ranger, 1 Ed Elric, 1 Gundam and 1 Iron Man) in boxes, till I find space for them.

I'M NOT GONNA LOSE THEM!!! (I hope)

Your dad just threw them away, and played on your sympathies an excuse to make you into a man. :ev:

As for me, I gave a whole mess of G1 stuff to my younger cousins. When I finally got them back when they were in high school, my enormous collection had been whittled down to 6 Constructicons (no parts) and a headless Highbrow.
