Ugh. Just lost an auction for the BTR Energon Optimus Prime I've been trying to locate for months. Forgot to come back to place my final bid. Final price: $13.50.

    !(*&@!(*&@!*&@

Happens to me all the time. What about you?

What a coincidence...I just won a BTR Opti...nah, but somebody had to say it.

Yes, I've done it lots of times and I HATE it when that happens. I also hate when I go to place that last second bid and lose because of Internet issues :(  It sucks and I totally feel for ya :)

Internet issues, that was my problem in the early 00's. :)

I cannot think of specific examples, but it has happened more times than I can count. The auction always ends lower than what I was willing to pay.

It happened many times to me. I get distracted and I forget the auction. Only when I check my email when I get mocked with the "sorry you didn't win" email.

But I can say in the last seconds, I sniped the crap out of peoples bid more than forgetting auctions.

I'm still having nightmares about that loose/complete G1 Grandus I lost a few years ago (misnamed auction). Final bid: about $110.

If it makes you feel any better, a final price of $13.50 does not mean you would've won it for $13.75 or something. For all you know, that other bidder was willing to go down the line to some crazy amount.

You never know. That toy has sold both for under $20 and over $100 in the past.

I remember when I was hunting a Universe 2.0 Starscream. Every freakin auction ended at like 35-40 bucks. I found an auction for one that was only at ten bucks, but shrugged it off because I knew it would get too expensive. That auction ended at eighteen dollars. After that I put my search for Universe Screamer on an indefinite hiatus :lol

I never look back, I put and honest max bid and walk away. If I loose then somebody want it more. Watching auctions is a sure fire way to pay more then you planned to

What I learned that betting a max bid is not the best way to optimize lower price on auction wins. Back in the days, I set a low bid or watch an auction and monitor the auctions in "My eBay" till the auction is close to ending. If my max is reached, I move on to the next auction that has the same item.

I totally get what your saying but I figures, that i'm gonna get it for the price I'm willing to pay or less. The extra bucks saved is not worth the time and effort of sniping to me, but hey everybody has they're own way of enjoying the hunt

I never lose auctions because I only use Buy It Now. It guarantees I get the toy I'm looking at.

I've lost more auctions from actually being asleep when it ends, then I have by forgetting. Like, I've been in the lead in an auction before I've gone to bed, and then when I wake up in the morning, somebody's beat me to the punch.

All too often, I'll see an auction ending with less than 5 min, and I wait to bid my max at about 30 seconds left or less. So, I flip a tab and read something somewhere or check a Youtube clip...which leads me to another clip, or article until suddenly I realize I didn't bid, and the auction ended 30 minutes ago ><

Far too many to count. My watch list is full of auctions that have ended.
