I'm definately in for Looney Tunes if the transfers are good, I saw some screencaps a while ago of the ones that are on the Robin Hood BD and it was like looking at the original cells.

Any chance you might have a link to that? I'd love to see those. I really hope the transfers are clean. That's some shit that deserves some care in preservation.

Makes me glad I didn't put money down on those Golden Collections.

Though what we really need? A 'Tex Avery Boxset.'

Assuming they all look that good, whats really mind boggling is that the last time these shorts could be seen at that level of quality was 30+ years before any of us were actually born.

    Ebay:
after Turner/Time Warner "doctored" several episodes of Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry, i have refused to ever buy them.

they re-dubbed certain shorts because they thought they were racist or socially unacceptable by today's standards.

as noble as the intentions, they destroyed something historically relevant.

it would be akin to taking "Birth of a Nation" and removing all the unacceptable scenes. or removing Nazis from a film like "The Longest Day."

i love Looney Tunes and the other brilliant cartoon shorts of that period. but i can't endorse a company that alters them like this.

supposidly the T&J blue ray set will be uncut and uncensored... as someone who picked up the first spotlight volume, I'll be waiting till this thing is released and reviewed before picking it up.

This made me remember one short where Elmer Fudd was a mountie and was intent on capturing Bugs. At the end as Bugs faces the firing squad, he's given a last request.

I always remember the 'PC' version quickly irised out on Bugs as he started singing 'I wish I was in Dixie,' before they cut to the un-PC ending.

Looney Tunes was always uncut on DVD and they included the socially dated stuff with disclaimers after the first volume. Shit, they were even talking about releasing the Censored 11 a while ago.

This is some cool news to hear because I've watched both the Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry...very classics cartoons. And man to see what they've done would be cool to see.

    Wow, the pictures look great.
