Figured as much that Harry Potter would beat DOTM domestically.

But DOTM is still #1 worldwide, right?

Can't say I'm surprised. HP7 part2 will certainly be one hell of a profitable movie, and if it eventually beats DOTM I won't be surprised. However, DOTM has proven to be wildly successful in money gathering in its own right, and while the movie will eventually start falling in the box office revenue department as time goes on, Hasbro is sitting pretty on top of a ton of products that we still don't know of. Odds are that once they reveal that stockpile of goodies at SDCC (or at least everybody is hoping they will), there is going to be a frenzy of trying to secure all the new toys that are revealed.

In my book, DOTM the movie may become overshadowed by Harry Potter, but the profits are only going to keep coming in strong for Hasbro thanks to the toy line.

It probably helps that HP-DHp2 is actually worth watching in theaters.

Thankfully Potter will never get a dime of my money. Watching a pansy wizard fumble around with his wand for two hours is not my cup of tea. Also, Potter
is going to be beaten by one of the lamest Superheros ever this weekend. Ha.

Nobody expected DOTM to beat Harry Potter this past weekend. DOTM was in its THIRD weekend and this was Harry Potter's OPENING weekend. Of course Harry Potter was going to outgross DOTM this weekend. If you think that DOTM finishing second to Harry Potter this past weekend is somehow a bad sign for DOTM, you are an idiot who doesn't understand how the box office works.

DOTM has an outside chance to outgross HP domestically this year. This Harry Potter movie could be front loaded like all those Twilight movies. We will get a better idea next weekend when we see how much of a hold HP has in its second weekend in theaters.

A HP movie has NEVER domestically outgrossed a Transformers movie when released in the same year. That's a fact. However, I think this will be the year in which HP breaks that trend.

Internationally, it isn't even close, HP will dominate due to its popularity oversees.

I think DOTM will finish somewhere around $350 million domestically and close to $1 billion internationally. It will most likely be the #2 top grossing film in 2011. That is solid. You can't argue against that. Furthermore, you can bank on a TF4 - no way Hasbro and Paramount leave that kind of jack sitting on the table.

What's laughable is that kind of score is on par with something like Lawrence of Arabia...oh yeah, a crappy Harry Potter movie is just as masterful as that film.

The critics have lost it. Anyone who follows them anymore is a fool. Period.

Harry Potter is going to fall off a cliff this weekend. That is what all HP movies do during their second weekend. Why? Because only fans want to see these crappy movies.
