Of course, both TF and Die Hard are Fox franchises, no?

Die Hard is, but I don't think the Transformers is.

Transformers is being put out by Universal.

Taken from the "Could they Flop?" link:

An R Rating would be awesome.

As for the movies - Spidey 3 will take over the record for biggest opening from POTC 2, but I think 3 will take it back. They'll be the highest two movies this summer.

*reads thread title* Poor Spiderman, keel-hauling is very painful...

    I hope Pirates does well.

I would be content with a PG-13 rated movie, as it would be accessible to a wider audience.

That being said, I hope the DVD comes in an R-rated or "Director's Cut" version as well as the theatrically-released PG-13 version.

I hope it is pg 13, I'm taking my son to it and can't justify bringing my 6year old to a R rated film.

Plus, Why sell toys to kids, if they can't even see that stupid movie?!?

There's no way "Transformers" is going to get an 'R' rating; they'll trim or edit it enough to make sure that it's PG-13, maximum.

As far as SM3 vs POTC3, if the buzz on Pirates 3 is good, it should easily pummel SM3 at the box office. Spider-Man 3 has been getting mediocre reviews and word-of-mouth, so that's going to hurt it's take.
