at the moment, i have a ps3, and i love it. couldnt ask for anyhting more from it. it will be my number one system. but i cant afford having all 3 of the major systems, so i was wondering which one i should get? the wii or the 360? considering how hard the wii is to come across, im kinda leaning towards the 360, but the wii has mario. so im not sure which one to go with

if anyone could help me, i would be greatful

360 strikes me as being a slightly weaker ps3. Once the developers really start jumping on the ps3, the two will have pretty much the same library.

With the wii, you know that even if a game on both systems has the same name, they're nothing alike.

I'd say this is something you need to ask yourself. Which do YOU want more? Both systems have huge selling points, and not many negatives.

You're right. The graphics will be inferior.

All around, the 360 is the superior game machine. Library of games (read quantity, not necessarily quality), hardware (bang for your buck) and Xbox Live are all currently greater than the Wii. But gameplay and game preference are your decision. And ultimately, no one can make that choice but you.

if you get a 360, you may be dissapointed because most of the PS3's library is 360 ports.

if you get a Wii, you may be dissapointed if you value graphics over gameplay.

just as if someone gets a PS3, they may be dissapointed that it offers absolutely nothing new when compared to the other two systems.

    My advice?

Look at the exclusive games available and on the way for each system, and make your decision based on that, and nothing else.

I would say the Wii. Don't get me wrong the 360 is great but the Wii is so different from the PS3 while the 360 is not. All three will have great exclusive games. Basically the PS3 and 360 will share a lot of the same games and controls, although the PS3 has tilt and the 360 rumble. The Wii will probably see few port of PS3 and 360 games, unless they drastically alter the graphics, but will probably see a lot of PS2 ports for a little while.

In the end it is all up to your taste. Look at the games that are exclusive to each system and how games that are on all three differ. If possible find someone with each system and play them for a few hours. If it helps make a list of those games you think you will like on all three systems and decide which you like the most. Take into account that some games you like will be on your PS3 as well as the other two so you don't need a new system for them. That is the best way I can think of to help you.

Don't rely on us to make up your mind because you may regret it later. We all have our favorite systems so of course that is what we will suggest but they may not be right for you. In the end it is your taste in games that should decide your choice.

I would go for the 360 as the secondary. For the exclusive 1st party franchises it has plus haing undisputed best online infustructure.

in all honesty, I'd be looking for a secondary system that was very different from the primary one. in that case, I really would go for either a snes or a genesis. or perhaps a saturn or dreamcast. there's some absolutely incredible games for those, that just happen to not get any love because the systems are old. although this is probably not the advice you were looking for.

Might as well get a CDX. That way he's got the Sega CD option too.
